Wow!

Dale “Grey Beard” Sanders once set the record as the oldest person to complete the roughly 2,190-mile trail. Now, he’s back for his title.

BIG NEWS! The "Agony" is over!

Yesterday finished rehabilitating the AT at Agony Grind. 260 stone steps were installed in one year, a new record for the Crew! This section of the Trail now feels and looks really good, with a much easier descent of the upper steep part and a really good lead in at the top from the view point at the park boundary.

Next we move on to rehabilitating the AT going up Green Pond Mtn. Stay tuned!

While the two photos below were not taken from the same vantage point, they give some idea of what was accomplished. The big rock in the lower left of the second photo can be seen at the upper left of the first photo, just below and to the left of the dark tree trunk with the fork at the top. The steps now go right past that tree to the viewpoint over the cliffs to the right. Well done, all!

REMINDER: Conditions permitting, the Crew plans to be back in action Fri-Sat-Sun March 20-21-22 at Agony Grind on the AT just west of the intersection of Route 17 and Arden Valley Rd, about 2 miles northeast of Southfields, NY on Route 17.
Since the Agony Grind is still snow-covered, we'll be watching conditions closely and plans could change. An additional reminder with full details will be sent out around Sunday, March 15th. There could be more updates after that if necessary.
Be sure to check back with the Crew before coming out! Agony Grind is no place to be when conditions are slippery, snowy or both!
Spring is in the air!

IT'S A WRAP!

's 2025 season is over. The high line is down and most of the tools are back in Marty's garage for the winter.

Many thanks to all who came out this year! We'll be back the last week of March 2026. C'mon out again then!

Meanwhile, happy holidays and a great winter to all!
