The birthplace of karate is Okinawa. In any other place, such as Canada or the US, karate is imin 移民, an immigrant.

More precisely, karate in foreign lands is bunka ishoku 文化移植, a cultural practice that has left its homeland to become established elsewhere.

Anyone who actually appreciates karate understands that cultural differences are a gift that could come no other way.
