From September grand finals to the Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games this October!

We’re incredibly proud to have four of our own representing Victoria Police in netball at the Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games on the Gold Coast.

As serving police officers, Jacoba, Jess, Anna and Alicia dedicate themselves to protecting our community, while bringing that same commitment, teamwork and passion to the netball court.

Best of luck, girls! We’re so proud of everything you do, both in uniform and out on the court. You’re wonderful ambassadors for Victoria Police and Torquay Netball Club 🐯👮🏻‍♀️

It was a privilege to present the inaugural Joan Hepworth Umpires Award at our Junior Presentation Night.

Named in honour of Torquay Netball Club Life Member, highly respected umpire and passionate mentor Joan Hepworth, the award recognises an umpire who demonstrates commitment, fairness, professionalism, dedication and a genuine passion for supporting and developing others.

Our inaugural recipient is Sienna Nelson.

Sienna has been a shining light within our umpiring group throughout the season. Whether umpiring at home or travelling away, she is always willing to put her hand up when the club needs her.

She has continued to develop her own skills and knowledge, showing a genuine commitment to learning and becoming the best umpire she can be.

But what makes Sienna’s contribution so special is the way she supports others. She has been a wonderful mentor and source of encouragement for our younger umpires, sharing her knowledge and helping them build confidence.

Above all, Sienna brings a positive, reliable and resilient attitude to everything she does. She continues to step onto the court, give her best and represent our club with pride.

Sienna, your commitment, generosity and passion for umpiring have not gone unnoticed. You are an incredibly valued member of our club, and we are so grateful for everything you give to our umpiring program and our players.

Congratulations Sienna. 💛🖤

A very worthy first recipient of the Joan Hepworth Umpires Award and a wonderful way to honour Joan’s legacy of supporting and developing the next generation of umpires.

📸 ➡️ Sienna receiving the award from Joan’s daughter, B Grade coach, past player and Life Member - Robyn Austin.
