It’s with great pleasure we announce the appointment of Shane Bertacco as Senior Football Coach for season 2027. After a year assistant coaching our senior team it is a privilege to be able to present Shane with the opportunity to take the reins in the coming season.

Shane brings an outstanding level of professionalism, knowledge and experience into the role and his ability to show great leadership has earnt him the respect of many. We love the way Shane goes about it and what he represents on and off the field. A proven coach, a true leader and professional who personifies what it means to be a Shark.

We would also like to take this moment to thank outgoing Senior Football Coach Lachie Jones on an excellent two year stint at the top. Lachie showed incredible determination and dedication to his group and understood exactly what it meant to this club to have our seniors playing finals again. Lachie can successfully step down knowing he has built a finals quality team with great prospect and club values. Lachie will also be signing back on with the Sharks as a player and we’re super pumped to have the Jones crew back at the club for another year 💙

We’re very keen for what’s to come and to prepare for another big season ahead. Each year we are successfully building and with the talent coming through there’s never been a more exciting time at the Sharks. So without further ado, a big congratulations to both Shane and Lachie on what you have achieved and what is about to be achieved. We’re in a great place right now. Go Sharks 🦈💙🤍
