VALE JIM DAW

Malvern Lacrosse Club is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jim Daw.

Gus Campbell has kindly shared a little bit of Jim's history :

Jim, a very dedicated Malvern person, having played in 1955,56,57,58,59 and 64 A grade premiership teams.

Jim also played for Victoria and Australia when they beat the USA at the MCG.

Jim was awarded a club life membership in 1974 and also received Lacrosse Victoria life membership.

Jim coached juniors for many years in all grades and at junior state level on many occasions.

Many of those players, went on to be club legends.

Jim ran the bar at Malvern for more than 15 years.

Most of us tried a "JD special"

A scotch and coke that was more Scotch than coke.

The Bar at the club was named in his honour.
Jim was a regular committee member for many years and took on the role of Club President in 91 and 92 , Jim and Val were as much apart of Malvern Lacrosse Club as anyone in the history of the club, Rest in Peace Jim Malvern thanks you.

Anyone wishing to say goodbye to the great man is welcome to attend the Funeral on Tuesday 23rd January @ 11:15 am - Blair Chapel, Springvale Botanical Cemetery.
