FORMULA FORD: COME AND JOIN THE FUN 🏁

We’ve got some terrific Formula Fords heading to One Raceway for the HSRCA Spring Festival, but we’d really like to see a few more of you out there!

Among those already lining up are Malcolm Oastler in his 1983 Lola T642A and Tom Tweedie in his 1986 Van Diemen RF86.

Two very handy drivers. Two cracking Formula Fords. And plenty of room on the grid for some company. 😉

So if you’ve got an eligible Formula Ford sitting in the shed and have been thinking about entering, this is your nudge.

A LITTLE AUSSIE MUSCLE IS JOINING US AT THE SPRING FESTIVAL! 🇦🇺

We’re delighted to welcome back the Falcon GT Club of Canberra, who have been joining us for our historic race meetings at One Raceway, formerly Wakefield Park, since 2017.

Founded in 2008 by a group of Falcon GT enthusiasts, the club is dedicated to having fun while promoting and preserving one of the great names in Australian motoring history: the legendary Falcon GT.

And they’re sharing the fun, extending an invitation to members of the Mustang and Torana clubs to join them for the weekend too.

So expect a rather fine gathering of Australian muscle and a few familiar rivals off the racetrack as part of the displays around the Spring Festival. 👀

1200 or 1600? Why choose when you can watch both? 👀🏁

The 2026 Formula Vee National Challenge will bring both the 1200cc and 1600cc Formula Vees to One Raceway for the HSRCA Spring Festival 25-27 September.

Formula Vee racing began in Australia in 1965, with the category based around the 1200cc Volkswagen engine, gearbox and suspension for decades.

The move towards the 1600cc specification began in 2004, giving us the two distinct classes racing today.

Different generations, same wonderfully simple Formula Vee recipe and the sort of close racing these small but mighty cars are famous for.

And if you’re planning to contest the Nationals but haven’t entered yet, there’s still time to get yourself onto that grid. 🏁

The HSRCA Spring Festival at One Raceway is just over two weeks away, and if you’ve been meaning to get your entry in, now’s the time!

We’ve already got a fantastic mix of machinery coming together for the weekend, but we’d love to see a few more Group N cars on the grid. Entries are closing this Friday 💨

The FORMULA VEE NATIONALS are coming to ONE RACEWAY! 🏁🇦🇺

One of the highlights of this year’s HSRCA Spring Festival will be the 2026 Formula Vee National Challenge, bringing Formula Vee competitors from around Australia to One Raceway over 25–27 September.

This is the BIG one. The National Challenge is held once each year, moving between states, with Australia’s 1200cc and 1600cc National Champions decided at the meeting.

Expect close racing, plenty of slipstreaming and Formula Vees doing what Formula Vees do best: travelling around in determined speedy packs! 🏎️🏎️🏎️

Come and see the Nationals as part of a huge weekend of historic motorsport at the HSRCA Spring Festival at One Raceway.

🇬🇧 50 YEARS OF MG FUN! 🥳

We’re delighted to welcome the MG Car Club Canberra to the HSRCA Spring Festival this September, and they have an extra reason to celebrate in 2026: it’s their Golden Jubilee!

For 50 years, the club has brought together people with a shared enthusiasm for the famous MG marque, from the earliest cars of the 1920s right through to today.

And while they certainly know their MGs, they don’t appear to take themselves too seriously. 😄 Their club life mixes motorsport, concours and workshops with tours, weekends away, socialising and plenty of good-humoured mechanical problem solving.

They’ll be joining us at One Raceway with an MG display as part of a weekend with plenty happening on and off the track.

UNDER 3 LITRES. BIG VARIETY. BIG RACING. 🏁

If you like your historic touring cars with plenty of variety, the Under 3 Litre Group C & A Touring Cars at the HSRCA Spring Festival should be loads of fun! Here's some pics from last year ...

So far we have Ford Escorts, a few Alfa Romeo's, a Torana GTR XU-1, a Triumph Dolomite Sprint, the Toyota's: Corolla AE86 GT Coupe, Celica GT2000, Supra A61, plus a BMW E30 M4, a Nissan EXA Turbo, a Mazda RX-3 and MORE heading for One Raceway. Quite the mixed bag, in the very best possible way. 👀

Here's a cool little Anglia with a rather big place in Australian motorsport history. 🏁

This wild 1962 Ford Anglia is reportedly where SuperCheap first entered the world of motorsport sponsorship back in the ’80s, in the days when deals were still done with a handshake.

Today, this lightweight little Ford is powered by a turbocharged 13B rotary engine and competes in Historic Sports Sedans, combining classic looks with serious performance. It will be raced at the HSRCA Spring Festival by Bevan Edmunds and entered by Bill Govett.

Come along and see the Group U Sports Sedans and Supersprints burn some rubber at the HSRCA Spring Festival, OneRaceway September 25–27 💨💨💨!!

🏁 CYCLEKARTS ARE COMING TO OUR SPRING FESTIVAL! Never seen a CycleKart before? Neither have many of us, and we think you're going to love them.

The CycleKart Club of Australia .cyclekarts is joining us at One Raceway with a dedicated display and demonstration laps across the Spring Festival weekend.

So what exactly is a Cyclekart? Think hand-built, half-scale tribute to the great racing cars of the pre-war era, powered by a small engine, sitting on wire wheels and built by people who believe historic motoring should be as much about creativity and fun as outright speed.

Many are inspired by real Grand Prix and racing cars of the 1920s and ’30s, and their drivers are often their builders too. In fact, Cyclekarting is deliberately not about serious competition or chasing lap times. It’s about building something wonderful, getting together with like-minded enthusiasts and then getting out there and driving it!

Come and see these fabulous little machines up close, meet the people who build them and watch them take to the circuit.

This may look vaguely like a VW Type 3… but things get considerably more interesting underneath. 👀

A recreation of the extraordinary Bryan Thomson/Peter Fowler Sports Sedan of the early ’70s, it combines a VW fastback with a 5-litre Chev V8 and McLaren components. It'll be raced by Greg 'Jock' Paynter, the nephew of Bryan, who raced the original. 🏁

𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗗 𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗧𝗢𝗡

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend and long-serving HSRCA Chief Scrutineer, Todd Hamilton, aged 96.

Todd was the HSRCA’s longest-serving Chief Scrutineer, taking over from John Coneybeare in the late 1990s and continuing in the role until 2016.

Over those many years, Todd played an enormously important part in our race meetings, helping to ensure the safety of hundreds of historic competitors and becoming a familiar face and good friend to many throughout our community.

He will be greatly missed, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

HSRCA's Young Women in Motorsport Program is about turning opportunity into reality, giving talented young women the chance to step out of the kart, garage or grandstand and into a historic Formula Vee race car.

Thanks to an incredibly generous private donation, HSRCA was able to purchase our own historic Formula Vee and put our first recipient, behind the wheel this year.

But buying the car was just the beginning.

Your support helps us keep the program on track, covering the costs involved in getting the car and our young driver race-ready and creating the same opportunity for more young women in the future.
