Our third shout-out for week 6 goes to KP29 10Ds! ❤️🤍💙

If team spirit had a trophy, KP29 would be right up there in the running! From their sunglasses and pom poms to the enthusiasm they bring each week, this team knows how to light up the courts and support one another.

KP29 are having a pretty cool start to the season. Working on finding space, using their pre-lim moves, and moving the ball down the court with confidence, this team has improved tremendously week after week. Their hard work and willingness to learn is really paying off, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for them! 😎👏

Shout Out for Week 6 goes to three teams this week! 👏🫶

Our second shout out goes to KP22 12Ds, who have been impressing everyone with their developing skills, growing confidence, and fantastic teamwork on the court. Sitting at the top of their grade is a reflection of all their hard work, commitment, and their coach’s dedication to helping them learn and develop new skills throughout the season so far. 🎉 Shout out to KP27! 🎉

Originally in 10Bs, KP27 are the only Junior KP team to move up a grade and are now competing in 10As. Their first game in the higher division was against their friends in KP26, and what a game it was!

Both teams played with grit and sportsmanship, and it all ended with cheers for both teams, cupcakes, and lollies for everyone. 🧁🍭 A fantastic reminder of what junior netball is all about!

Communication on Court: Building Rapport while Umpiring

Effective communication is one of the most important skills a netball umpire can develop. While making accurate decisions is essential, how those decisions are communicated can significantly influence player behaviour, game flow, and overall respect for officiating.

This presentation explores the role of communication in netball umpiring, focusing on the use of communication techniques, hand signals, confident voice projection, appropriate tone, and effective vocal delivery. Participants will examine how these communication techniques can help build rapport with players, create a positive on-court environment, build rapport, minimise escalation, and enhance professionalism as an umpire. Through functional examples and reflection, attendees will gain strategies to communicate with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.

Get ready to glow, sing, dance and have some fun as KPNC presents our upcoming All-Ages Disco Night!

From 5:00pm–7:00pm, Bop Till You Drop will have the party started with music, dancing and karaoke.

From 7:00pm until late, we’ll be screening the Mavericks vs Firebirds game on the big screen.

The bar will be open throughout the evening, with cheese platters and dessert available to purchase.

Kids’ tickets are $26 and include:

• Entry to the disco

• Individual pizza

• Chicken bites

• Garlic bread

• Packet of chips

• Popper

⚠️ Numbers are currently low, so if you’re planning on coming, please register as soon as possible and help us fill the dance floor!

⏰ Registrations close Saturday 13 June at 12:00pm.

KNA Volunteer Appreciation Day

On Sunday 7th June, KNA hosted their Volunteer Appreciation Day at Netball Central, bringing together volunteers from clubs across the association to celebrate the incredible contributions made throughout the season. 💛💙

Representing KPNC were:

* Carla, a member of our Committee, along with her daughters Charlotte (who assists with KP26) and Zara.
* Nat, our NSG Convenor, team coach and manager, accompanied by her daughter Mak.
* Imogen, who manages KPNC’s social media, serves as Co-Coaching Convenor, and coaches within the club, along with her partner JJ.

The day included a thank you presentation and complimentary tickets to watch the GIANTS Netball vs West Coast Fever match. It was a thrilling contest that went right down to the wire, with the Fever narrowly claiming victory 61–60.

A huge thank you to Ku-Ring-Gai Netball Association GIANTS Netball for hosting such a wonderful event and for recognising the volunteers who help make our netball community so special. We all had an amazing time! 🏐✨
