One of the most powerful parts of this story at Callan Park is the transformation itself.

Built in the early 1920s as part of Australia's first repatriation hospital for returned WWI soldiers, Repatriation Ward B (Building 497) is being carefully restored and adapted for a new purpose.

The heritage building will enter a new chapter as the clubhouse for , honouring its past while serving the community for years to come.

Stay tuned for its transformation!

We’re calling for nominations for an Aboriginal representative to join the Callan Park community trustee board.

👉 This is your opportunity to contribute your local knowledge, perspectives and experience to inform the care, management, and activation of Callan Park, ensuring Aboriginal voices and perspectives are heard in discussions about the park's future.

Community trustee boards provide advice to Greater Sydney Parklands on community, environmental, heritage and cultural issues to inform our decision-making. It is important that the membership of each board represents a range of community interests and local perspectives on park stewardship, activities and usage.

📅 Nominations close Sunday, 16 August 2026.

National Tree Day is a chance to recognise the important role trees play in creating healthy, vibrant green spaces for our communities. 🌳

Across Callan Park, mature trees help shape the landscape, provide habitat for local wildlife and create spaces for people to walk, gather and connect with nature.

However you spend your time in the park today, take a moment to appreciate the natural environment that surrounds us. 💚🌿
