Oct 2019 - March 2020 : S.Y. Adix refit at the Yard in Brisbane. We went to Brisbane for 6 months to work on the refit of the classic schooner Adix. We built a new companionway hatch for the crew's accomodation which was a bit worse for the wear after 35 odd years, removed all of the teak bulwark capping & refitted it after it was stripped & re-faired. And whole bunch of other jobs while we were there. I worked on her on a refit in Sydney in 1994 & have kept in contact with the Captain Paul & his brother John over the years & they invited us to take care of all of the timber work required during the refit in Brisbane.

February 2018 : Teak decks for the new build Frers 57 by McConaghy Boats Australia. SHBB was contracted for the teak decks. We made in panels at my workshop then fitted to the boat in McConaghy's factory in Gosford. Thanks to the owner of the boat , McConaghy Boats & the photographer Andrea Francolini (on water pics) for letting me put some pics here. We are currently doing the teaks decks on a new build Reichel Pugh 56 under construction at McConaghy Boats. Hope to post some pics in the near future.

Its been ages since I posted anything here. Slack , I know.
So Im going to endevour to start posting things we've been up to, jobs we've done in the last couple of years, etc.
Covid seems to have made the marine industry extremely busy. We haven't slowed down at all.
Everyone I know in the industry is flat out & struggling to keep up with the workload.
We NEED more apprentices !!! Its a great & rewarding job. Every day is different.
We need more up & coming tradesmen & less up & coming computer programmers.
Everyone seems to think this is a dying trade but that is very far from the truth.
