Queenslander Brent Reading proved too good for his opposition at the Australian Kart Masters, honouring Ian Brown, to claim the Australian KA3 Masters Title in Coffs Harbour on the weekend.

Reading was joined on the front row for the final by five-time Australian Champion Kip Foster for the start of the final following a strong performance by the pair during the heat races.

Kris Walton emerged as the leader on the opening lap with Matthew Waters and Leigh Nicolaou for company. As the race wore on, the trio were no match for the pace for Reading who, after moving into the lead before mid race, showed superior speed to claim the victory.

Waters had an unchallenged run to the runner-up placing while Nicolaou drew clear of Walton for third. Late in the race, Walton was engaged in a three-way battle with Foster and Nick Percat with Foster eventually gaining the upper hand to finish fourth ahead of Percat and Walton.

North Queenslander Nathan Mills was seventh ahead of the hard charging Reif Corbett who started outside the top 20 in the final. Sam Houston and Steve Scoble rounded out the top 10.

Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club for the masters I will be attending the event to support and look after all our customers - currently all our Ka100 engines have been leased - but we have X30s that can be leased also - our engines in restricted winning more than 10 state titles in the last 3 years in restricted classes. This is what karting is all about the team bonding - I love how our little team supports each and every driver - CXR family. Such a great group of people - yes even you Paul Flynn 😜 - cannot do without the support of all the parents - as well as the support from my family - especially my wife.

Round 2 was a weekend of plenty of ups and downs. We gave it our all and ended with 4 podiums with our engines - and 3 podiums within the CXR TEAM - Plenty of positives from the weekend with drivers showing great speed - Thanks again to everyone in our team and there families always a great atmosphere despite not always going to plan - we have a great group of people -

Once again are ever improving the driving standards this weekend and even going deeper with engine checks with complete engines being bagged to be examined - great for the sport.
