One of the best investments anyone can make for themselves is in gym equipment for home.

While you don’t need to have a setup like this, having some basics like a rower and some weights is invaluable for rider development.

This is especially true for younger riders that don’t have easy access to commercial gyms.

Having the ability to get some conditioning or strength work in before school a few days a week is game changing for riders performance, physical development and injury prevention and recoverability.

For the price of a new exhaust, you can get decently set up for training. And actually get real value from it!

Want some advice or guidance on what to get and how to go about a setup for home, flick me a DM. I’ve done multiple setups for myself over the years, as well as guided riders setups from tight budgets to full home gyms.

What an epic weekend just gone at for the inaugural Keith Allan Classic.

Most have no idea what goes on behind the scenes to put on a race day for a club, let alone a 2-day event, let alone on a skeleton crew of just 5 people.

Couple weeks to recover and plan and we’re back at it again for the final round of state titles.

With more and more riders committing to regular riding, getting 3-5 sessions a week on the bike. It’s becoming extremely important for these riders to know and understand how to dose in their off-bike training in conjunction with their on-bike training.

This is a simple exert from one day of training we did this week with a rider who’s running my full time training program and getting 4 sessions a week on the bike.

The purpose of this and sharing this is to help riders understand that more or harder training isn’t always better. And that simply stacking consistency, ensuring the training is stimulating enough to elicit adaptations and physical responses and allow you to stack days on weeks on months on years without burnout. (More on that in another post).

We run both face-to-face and online full time programs for riders. Of you’d like to learn more about these programs and if they would be a good fit for you, drop me a DM.

Getting your bike set up properly is such an underrated practice! Especially with beginner to intermediate level riders.

Incorrect setup and control positioning can make getting the correct body positions and movements on the bike either more difficult or even impossible in some cases.

In our camps, we start with dialling in and finding the correct body positions on the bikes, and then work with each individual to get their bikes set up to fit them in the correct positions.

These are the foundations that so many miss or skip over.

Better riding and confidence is built from solid foundations.

There’s a process to rider development. And it’s really important to us to step our riders through and get things fixed along the way, no matter what level you’re currently at.

Want to experience this for yourself?

Our 4-Day Camps at The Island ASC are where you’ll get it. Full details can be found via the link in my bio.
