It appears a car attempted to drive over the Kelmscott Street pedestrian crossing 🙄, ripping out 2 of the barriers and lifting the bitumen.

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield have been notified of the damage.

A fantastic turnout for the 4 July working bee at the Gillman Marshalling Yards. Over 35+ GRL members and Rail Care SA volunteers gathered to plant out a new area and w**d and mulch existing areas. Highlights of the day included:

- a visit by the Hon. Emily Bourke MLC, who enjoyed a tour of the Gillman Marshalling Yards and a section of the Rosewater Loop
- a fabulous morning tea with a range of food provided by GRL members.

Greening Rosewater Loop (GRL) are having another working bee this Saturday:

- Gillman Marshalling Yards
- Saturday 4 July, 10am
- Marine Terrace

To participate you need to be a Rail Care SA (Rosewater) volunteer. But it’s easy to join up by visiting the Rail Care SA website or you can sign up on the day.

Port Adelaide Enfield Council have completed the upgrade of the toilet block that borders Eric Sutton Oval and the Rosewater Loop. Looks great! PAE advise the toilets will be locked overnight to reduce vandalism.

An amazing GRL turnout on Sunday with over 35+ Rail Care SA volunteers helping to do some w**ding, planting and mulching along Hardy Street, with a smaller group doing the same up at Russell Street & Canning Street. Thanks to everyone who showed up and to the GRL team for a delicious range of cakes and biscuits for morning tea.

In exciting news, the Greening Rosewater Loop team won Conservation SA’s 2026 Working Together Award at an SA Environmental Awards ceremony on Friday 5 June.

The award recognised significant outcomes by a community group over a 12 month period. GRL’s role in advocating for funding & action, galvanising community members and building a Rail Care SA (Rosewater Loop) team have all contributed to a very different looking Rosewater Loop & Gillman Marshalling Yards.

Congratulations to the GRL team, Rail Care SA volunteers and many others who have all worked hard to achieve this great outcome.
