๐ Presidentโs Wrap Season 2025/26 ๐
Now that Iโve had a chance to take a breather after a hectic season I just wanted to give a quick presidents wrap up on our successful 2025/26 season.
This season was all about one thing โ bouncing back.
After a tough year in A Grade and some challenging years in B Grade, we made a decision as a club: we werenโt going to give up, and we werenโt going to fade away.
The amount of work that went in after last season was incredible, and seeing the rewards at the end of the year fills me with real pride โ in our club, and in every person who contributed along the way.
From the very first winter training session through to the final games of the season, the commitment across the board was outstanding. Itโs something we should all be proud of.
On the field, we saw some terrific results.
Our A Grade side earned a place in the finals and pushed hard in a semi-final โ a strong performance and a clear sign of progress.
And our B Grade sideโฆ an outstanding achievement, bringing home the premiership โ not just a reward for this group, but for all the past players who fought to keep that side going through some tough years. I have personally been involved in twisting many an arm into playing in the past few years so I thank everyone that came through for us when they could, keeping that B grade side going was a non-negotiable.
While results matter, what truly makes our club special is our people and the family culture we continue to build. That was on full display this year, with great support at our game days, social functions and Thursday night dinners โ seeing so many partners and kids around the club is something we should never take for granted. It is such an important part of making sure our club is around long into the future.
We were also able to share a special moment with one of our great past players, Garry Bartle. Seeing Garry at our Past Players Day, and the joy on his face, is something Iโll remember for a long time.
To our committee and all of our volunteers โ thank you. It was a big year, and the level of support around the club has been as strong as I can remember. Without the time and effort you all put in, we simply wouldnโt have a club.
To our sponsors and supporters โ thank you for backing us again this year. Your support allows us to provide opportunities for our players and continue to grow both on and off the field. Weโre incredibly grateful for the ongoing commitment, particularly from our Platinum and Gold sponsors who have now been onboard with us for three years. We look forward to continuing long into the future.
A special mention to our Club Person of the Year, Tessa Compton. The time, energy, and care you put into this club cannot be overstated. Your contribution this year as secretary has been invaluable among all of the other tasks you just keep taking on. From a personal perspective, I could not have done the president role without you.
To our players, thank you for the effort, pride, and sportsmanship you showed representing the club this season. Youโve done yourselves and the club proud.
And once again, congratulations to our B Grade premiership side, and to everyone who played a part in what was a very successful year.
The foundations are strong, and thereโs a lot to be excited about heading into next season. Weโre heading in the right direction โ and weโre not done yet.
Enjoy the off-season, and we look forward to seeing everyone back around the club soon.
