💛 Round 3 Results 💙

After being sent into field, A grade restricted MacArthur to a respectable total of 4/185 off their 40 overs. Two direct hit run outs from Kaden Wilson & Shani Silva were the highlights, while Thomas Roberts and Shani both claimed a wicket each. In reply, we got off to a solid start off the back of a 72 run opening stand between Nick Wills (29) & Ollie Harrison (43) before the rain had the final say, rounding out our innings on 2/115 after 26 overs. We managed to scrape away with a 17 run win (DLS method). Ollie Harrison was named man of the match for his brilliant 43 and is proudly sponsored by Sam Roberts.

B grade kept their winning streak alive with a win over Tyrendarra in another rain affected match. After winning the toss and batting first, we managed to post a strong total of 177, courtesy of some late runs from Ben Johnson who made his way to 45 off just 43 balls. He was well supported by Luke Rietman (21) & Tim Buchanan (18). Some tight bowling from Raju Tamang who claimed 2/6 off his 5 overs helped restrict Tyrendarra to just 5/56 off 24 overs, before rain once again had the final say. Nonetheless, B grade also managed to get the win by 121 runs (DLS method). Ben Johnson claimed man of the match honours and is still looking for a sponsor for anyone interested!

Next week A grade will make the trip to Dunkeld, while B grade will host South at home (pending ground conditions).

Well done boys 💛💙

💛 Round 2 Results 💙

A grade continued their winning form with a big win over Casterton at Island Park! After winning the toss and batting, our boys made a brilliant start off the back of a 100 run stand between Nick Wills (71) & Suraj Weerasinghe (101*), helping us reach a total of 4/229 off our 40 overs. Thomas & Sam Roberts were the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 & 3 wickets respectively, while Shanaka Silva chipped in with 2 of his own. We were able to bowl Casterton out for 107, falling well short of the required total. Suraj Weerasinghe was named man of the match after an outstanding century, his second for the club and many more to come! He is proudly sponsored by Pete Kent & Val Richardson.

B grade picked up where they left off after a thrilling victory over Portland Colts at Henty Park. After being sent into field first, Portland Colts piled on a very strong total of 7/207 after their 40 overs. Vish Valliyodan & Ben Johnson led the bowling attack, both taking two wickets each. In reply, our run chase got off to a shaky start after being 3/60 after 20 overs, before James Roberts blasted his way to 44 (25) while Andre Wallace steered the boys home with 62* (63), chasing the total down with 8 balls remaining. Andre was named man of the match, he is proudly sponsored by James, Beck & Charlie Cannon.

Next week A grade will make the trip to Macarthur, while B grade will be hosted by Tyrendarra.

Well done boys! 💛💙
