🏀 Expressions of Interest Open – Coaster Hoops Co-ordinator 🏀

Portland Basketball Association is seeking a Coaster Hoops Co-ordinator for our popular introductory basketball program, helping young players aged 5-7, and 8-9 year olds who are new to the game.

📅 Commencing 12 October
⏰ Monday afternoons, approximately 2 hours per week
🏀 8-week program
💰 Appropriate remuneration offered based on skills, experience and suitability

The successful applicant will require:
✅ A valid Working With Children Check
✅ A sound knowledge of basketball rules and fundamentals
✅ Experience working with children and/or coaching (desirable)

2027 U20 State Team Trial expression of interest & a new pathway opening for Victoria’s emerging talent!

EOIs are now open for athletes born in 2008 and 2009 to trial for the 2027 Victorian Under-20 State Teams. This is your opportunity to develop your game, challenge yourself and take the next step in the Victorian pathway.

For the first time, athletes born in 2009 can be considered for Basketball Victoria’s new U19 State Development Program designed to bridge the gap between junior and senior basketball.

Eligible athletes from across metropolitan and country Victoria are encouraged to put themselves forward for the chance to develop their game, connect with teammates and proudly represent VIC on the national stage.

Whether you're already involved in SDP or looking to break into the program, this is your chance to showcase your talent, challenge yourself, and continue your basketball development.

🏀 U12 Country Skills Days 🏀

It was a big weekend last weekend for our young Portland basketballers, who headed to Hamilton to take part in the Basketball Victoria U12 Country Skills Days.

The Skills Days bring together enthusiastic junior athletes from across regional Victoria for a full day of basketball development — a chance to learn from experienced pathway coaches, build fundamental skills, meet other passionate players, and enjoy the excitement of being part of the Basketball Victoria Country Pathway.

It was fantastic to see so many of our Portland juniors stepping up, challenging themselves, and proudly representing Portland Coasters and our association. Their energy, effort and willingness to learn was on full display all day.

Well done to every junior athlete who attended. We hope you came home with new skills and great memories. 💛🖤🏀
