50 senior games. What a milestone, Darcy and what a ride it's been!

From claiming the U16 HFNL Best & Fairest as a junior to now having 50 senior games firmly under his belt, Darcy has been on quite the journey, and the best part is he's only getting started.

A natural half-back with the kind of size and silky skills that coaches dream about, he's the complete package. His ability to read the play, use the ball cleanly, and set up attacking chains from the back half makes him one of those players who quietly influences the game in all the right ways.

He's shown real resilience too, bouncing back into the senior side and proving time and again that he belongs at this level. That hunger and determination are exactly what the Tigers are built on.

50 senior games in and already a huge asset to this club. Here's to the next 50, Darcy

There are players who turn up, and then there are players who elevate everyone around them. Toby (Gaz) is firmly in the second category.

With football royalty in his DNA, it would've been easy to ride the coattails of the family name, but that's never been his style. He's out there every week writing his own story, and what a story it's turning out to be.

Picking up club MVP awards, HFNL Pitstop MVP, along with a selection of club honours along the way, says a lot about the kind of footballer he is. Add in his time with the HFNL Interleague side and the Greater Western Victoria Rebels, and it's clear he's someone coaches and selectors keep coming back to, because he simply gets the job done at every level he's played at.

Watch him go to work overhead, and you'll quickly understand why he's such a nightmare for opposition players. That explosive leap, the clean hands, the ability to pluck a ball out of traffic, it's something special. But what makes Gaz truly dangerous is what happens after the mark. The calm. The read of the game. The precise decision-making that keeps the Tigers moving forward.

He doesn't just play his role; he sets the standard for it. His commitment week in, week out, the way he bounces back from adversity, and his absolute dedication to this football club speak louder than any highlight reel ever could.

Proud to have him in the black and gold. Congratulations on playing 100 Senior games, Gaz!

VOLUNTEER OF THE WEEK

- Dale Mibus -

Dale coaches our Under 10s, and on game day that often means he is also stepping in as umpire, runner, organiser and all-round helper.
He is always one of the first to put his hand up, whether it is helping organise the junior footy gear, getting it where it needs to be each Sunday, as well as taking on the role of number one bus driver for away games, often transporting the Under 10 and Under 12 kids.
Dale is a wonderful ambassador for the Portland Football Netball Club. As a past player, a proud parent of Tom and Essie, who are involved in junior football and netball, and a permanent fixture on the BBQ at home games, he continues to give so much back to the club.
Nothing is ever too much trouble for Dale. He rarely says no and is always looking for ways to make someone else’s job easier. Thank you, Dale, for everything you do for our junior players, families and the wider PFNC community.

Game times for the weekend!

Friday our u/15 girls footy play at 7pm at home against Warrnambool. 🐯

Saturday and Sunday are both played against Port Fairy away 🐯🟡⚫️

With our seniors playing in Port Fairy on Saturday and our juniors backing up again on Sunday, it’s shaping up to be a huge weekend for the club.
We’d love to see plenty of support for all of our teams, and we know a few are already making a weekend of it — so we’re encouraging others to join in too!
We’ve booked dinner at The Stump for Saturday night, so if you’d like a seat, let us know and we’ll reserve one for you.
