ROUND 10 ROO-SULTS

What a weekend for the Roo Train, finishing Round 10 with an impressive 5 wins from 8 games! 💪🖤🤍

The headline results came from some nail-biting finishes, with our League, Reserves, Thirds and Women’s sides all digging deep to secure hard-fought victories. The League boys held off Wembley by just 7 points, Reserves got the job done in a thriller by 2 points, the Thirds edged out Scarborough by 3 points, and our Women’s team showed plenty of grit to come away with a 7-point win over Willetton. These are the games that build belief and character, and all four sides stood up when it mattered most.

The Colts were dominant from the first bounce, running away with a massive 117-point victory, while our other sides battled hard against quality opposition. A special mention to our Integrated team, fours and 2nd colts who never stop representing the black and white with pride, effort and determination every week.

A huge thank you to all our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters who continue to drive the Roo Train forward. Plenty of positives to take into the next round as we keep building momentum together.

💯 100 GAMES FOR JAXON SADLER 💯

Today we celebrate a fantastic milestone as Jaxon Sadler runs out for his 100th game in the black and white 🦘

Joining the Roos in 2020 from Joondalup Kinross, Jaxon wasted no time making his mark at the club. A key member of the club’s talented Colts group, he was part of the 2022 premiership-winning side in what many remember as a special “superteam” that enjoyed plenty of success together.

From there, Jaxon’s rise through the ranks was rapid, establishing himself as an important member of our League squad. His outstanding 2025 season was recognised with a runner-up finish in the League Best and Fairest, highlighting the consistency and quality he brings week in, week out.

Known for his relentless tackling pressure, defensive accountability and willingness to put his body on the line, Jaxon has become one of the club’s most reliable defenders. Whether locking down dangerous forwards or spending time through the midfield, his competitiveness and team-first attitude are qualities that make him a valued Roo.

Congratulations Jaxon on reaching 100 games for the Wanneroo Football Club. We look forward to many more games in the black and white! 👏🖤🤍

50 GAMES – Annelise Talbot

This weekend we celebrate Annelise Talbot’s 50th game in the black and white.

Since joining Wanneroo in 2023, better known to most as Anna on the field, she arrived ready to make an impact. Her hard work and dedication were quickly recognised, earning the Coaches Award in her first season before finishing Runner-Up Best and Fairest the following year.

A natural leader, Annelise joined the leadership group in 2024 and has remained a valued leader within the team ever since. From her early days across the backline to now thriving as an inside midfielder, she puts her body on the line week in and week out. While this milestone may have come sooner if not for an unfortunate off-field setback, her resilience and determination saw her return earlier than expected.

More than just a player, Annelise is a true club person who gives so much to Wanneroo both on and off the field. Her leadership, commitment and passion for the club make her an invaluable part of the Roo family.

Congratulations, Annelise on 50 games. We’re proud to have you in the black and white. 🖤🤍

150 GAMES – JOSH “ROO BOY” WATKINS 🦘💯5️⃣0️⃣

Today we celebrate a massive milestone as Josh “Roo Boy” Watkins runs out for his 150th game in the black and white.

Josh arrived at Wanneroo in 2018 from West Perth Colts, joining our Colts program and quickly establishing himself as a player destined for bigger things. Like many great stories, success didn’t come immediately, with Josh playing in back-to-back Colts Grand Finals in 2020 and 2021 that ended in heartbreak.

But persistence pays off.

In 2022, as a 21-year-old, Josh cemented his place in the League side and played a pivotal role in our Premiership triumph. His composure, courage and ability to read the play made him a cornerstone of our defence as the Roos claimed the ultimate prize.

Since that breakthrough season, Josh has become one of the club’s biggest pillars at League level. A multiple top-five finisher in the Best and Fairest, he has built a reputation as one of the competition’s premier key defenders and is widely regarded as one of, if not the greatest intercept markers the Wanneroo Football Club has ever seen.

Week after week, “Roo Boy” puts his body on the line, flies for impossible marks and leads by example, making him one of the most respected figures around the club.

Congratulations Josh on reaching 150 games. We thank you for your commitment, loyalty and everything you have given to the black and white so far.

Here’s to many more games, marks and memorable moments ahead.

Another big weekend of footy awaits the Roo Train as we roll into Round 10 with sides spread across the metro area and plenty of opportunities to bring home the points 💪

Our senior men hit the road for an important clash with Wembley as they look to continue their strong form, while our Women travel south to take on Willetton under lights on Saturday evening. Back at Wanneroo Showgrounds, the Thirds, Fourths and Integrated side all have home fixtures in what promises to be another great day around the club ⚫⚪

Team selections are on tonight, so come down and be part of the action! Training kicks off at 5:30pm, followed by team selections , a delicious dinner, Thursday night footy on the screens, the bar open, and the always-popular choccy wheel.

Dust off your boots, grab your cowboy hat and get ready for one of the biggest nights on the Roo calendar!

On Friday 27th June, we’re turning the clubrooms into the wild west for our annual Silent Disco Rodeo. The party kicks off after awards which will start at 7pm with a night full of music, laughs and a little bit of country chaos.
