This weekend is Sock it to Sarcoma! Round, where players, parents, and volunteers are encouraged to wear odd socks and make a donation to support this important cause.
Sarcoma is the name given to a group of rare and aggressive primary bone and soft tissue tumours. It affects people of all ages and is the second most common cancer in children aged 0–19, while also making up around 10% of cancers diagnosed in young people aged 15–25.
One of the challenges with sarcoma is that symptoms in children and young adults can often be mistaken for sporting injuries, which can delay diagnosis and treatment.
By wearing odd socks during Round 8, we can help raise awareness, start conversations, and show support for those affected by sarcoma and their families.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps make a difference.
