Vic Park Raiders Junior Football Club

Vic Park Raiders Junior Football Club Over the years many champions have started their careers with the Victoria Park Raiders and then gone on to play both WAFL and AFL football.

We always take great pride in the support and dedication of our numerous volunteers and family members. In the spirit of reconciliation the Victoria Park Raiders JFC acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We acknowledge the Wadjuk people of the Noongar Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we play

footy, and pay respects to their Elders past and present. We extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This weekend is Sock it to Sarcoma! Round, where players, parents, and volunteers are encouraged to wear odd socks and make a donation to support this important cause.

Sarcoma is the name given to a group of rare and aggressive primary bone and soft tissue tumours. It affects people of all ages and is the second most common cancer in children aged 0–19, while also making up around 10% of cancers diagnosed in young people aged 15–25.

One of the challenges with sarcoma is that symptoms in children and young adults can often be mistaken for sporting injuries, which can delay diagnosis and treatment.

By wearing odd socks during Round 8, we can help raise awareness, start conversations, and show support for those affected by sarcoma and their families.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps make a difference.

We hope everyone enjoyed the break from footy and is refreshed and ready for another exciting round ahead!

Friday night will see our Senior Girls back at home under lights, while our other teams hit the road for away games.

Saturday morning belongs to our Auskick superstars as they take to the field, followed by our Mod teams continuing the action throughout the day.

And Sunday sees our Youth Boys back in action, while our Year 9/10 Girls enjoy a daytime fixture for a nice change of scenery, and our 11/12 Boys are rested for another week.

A reminder that further re-grading has taken place, which has resulted in some fixture changes for a number of teams. Please make sure you check your team's fixtures regularly and keep an eye out for updates from your Team Manager.

Good luck to all of our teams this weekend. We look forward to seeing the Raiders Community out and about supporting our players and teams!

If you are out and about across the long weekend, please remember to support the businesses that support us.

Our sponsors play a huge role in helping us provide opportunities for our players, teams and families, and we are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to the Raiders.

We encourage all members of our Raiders family to get behind the businesses that get behind us. By supporting our sponsors, you are helping strengthen the partnerships that make our Club strong.

A huge well done to our Yr 8 Team for getting behind The Push-Up Challenge and helping raise much needed funds and awareness for mental health support across Australia.

Your commitment to supporting such an important cause is something the whole club can be proud of.

The initiative officially kicks off on 3rd June, and we encourage all of our players, families and supporters to get involved, challenge themselves and support this incredibly worthy cause.

Every push-up completed and every dollar raised helps make a difference in supporting mental health services and starting important conversations within our communities.

No Auskick
No Girls Friday Footy
No Mixed Mods on Saturday
No Youth Footy on Sunday

That’s right! It’s a well-earned break for all our footy legends, volunteers, and families this long weekend!

Take the time to relax, recharge, and enjoy a few sleep-ins, family time, or maybe even a getaway.

You’ve all been putting in a huge effort, and this is your chance to rest those legs and reset before we launch into the second half of the season.

We’ll see you back in action for Round 6, kicking off Friday 5th June!
