Meet our old scrum machine we named Delilah. Delilah was moved from our old Jesmond oval last Monday after a working bee by some of our players.

Our forwards here are put through their paces by scrum master Kane, followed by a team tetanus shot after crouching binding and setting with Delilah.

Welcome home to our pushy old darling.

Would you sit on the fence or play some rugby? Here's why the Griffins might just be the next life experience you need.

Sometimes, the best decision is just to jump in — no hesitation. Glenn says it’s all about the club culture, and he's been around many clubs, including league and gridiron.

He calls the Griffins the best club culture he's ever experienced. When you find a community that feels like family, everything changes.

So, if you're sitting on the fence about starting your rugby journey, maybe it’s time to get involved and see what all the buzz is about.

Are you in or still thinking?

No rugby this round due to the long weekend. The Griffs and our families are having a crack at their golf game tonight at Rippit Golf!

Great night with great people.

The boys absolutely hitting flow state at training tonight. The cold and a bye didn’t stop us having 16 Griffs show up and learn under the respected expertise of Kaney, Phil and Johnty.

Introductions to scrums and defensive formations. Finished with a little bit of team song training at the end, because it’s not if, it’s when.

Not too late to join the best bunch of blokes in Newy for a game of rugby this year, send us a DM

“I'm at the bottom of the ruck, like just hanging there, just sort of comfortable. I went, “this is nothing”. ….. And the very split second I had that thought, I sat up and someone kneed me straight in the face.”

Meet Russell Murray who at 43 took up rugby for the first time and instantly got the bug for it. If you’re thinking about playing this year its not too late, send us a DM.

"Ever thought it's too late to try something new? Think again — 44-year-old rookie joins rugby & loves every second."

When Desmond decided to join the Griffins, he thought he’d just try rugby — turns out, it’s about more than just a game.

It’s about breaking barriers, building confidence, and finding a new tribe at any age.

He admitted being nervous (who isn’t?) but found he’s stronger — physically and mentally — than he thought.

That shoulder to the face? Just a ‘oh, f**k’ moment, then back in the game, feeling more alive than ever.
Sharing your first step can inspire someone—what's the new hobby or challenge you’re considering?

Remember: It’s never too late to start. Take that leap today.

Unfortunately the rugby gods have spoken. The round this week has been washed out. We will defer the Stuart Trench Cup Memorial Day to our next scheduled home game. If you were planning to attend, please feel free to join the club back at our sponsor the The Beauford Hotel tonight for a few ales and tales

Finally not scoring many points turned out well for us.

Griffins submitted 2 teams in the inaugural Hunter Rugby Charity Golf Day recently and bagged both first place and last place on the day.

A great day was had by all involved. The club would like to thank East Coast Support Solutions for sponsoring our entry tickets and RUN DIPG and Hunter Rugby for putting on a great day
