FIGHT OF THE NIGHT 🏆🔥
Sydney Contender 27
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 - 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐰 𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛
𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐞 - 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛
For Chad Thomas, this was unfinished business.
After injury forced him to withdraw from Contender last year, he returned this season determined to finish what he started. Balancing night shifts, family life and training was no easy task, but he showed incredible discipline throughout camp. With his wife Kelly and two daughters training alongside him at Shadow Fitness Club, Chad’s journey became about much more than boxing.
For Anthony, the journey looked a little different.
He started camp a little apprehensively and, at the sparring day, fitness levels looked… questionable. Especially for a man who quickly built a reputation for checking the clock and being first to ask for the fans to be turned on.
But week by week, under Nathan Mazoudier and Ayo Odeyale at North Shore Boxing Club, Anthony grew in confidence, fitness and belief. He embraced the grind, became a valued part of the gym culture, and by fight night looked like a completely different athlete.
Incredibly, both men had dropped 10kg by fight night.
And when the bell rang, they delivered.
This became a brilliant clash of styles. Chad using his range and movement, Anthony applying relentless pressure and looking to land the cleaner, heavier shots.
Anthony wouldn’t give Chad an inch all fight, but Chad kept firing back the whole way.
Both men showed serious heart and grit across three hard rounds.
Anthony got the win on the scorecards, with his cleaner punches tipping things in his favour.
Two very different journeys. Two incredible transformations. One absolute war.
A brilliant display of heart from both men ❤️🥊
