2026 Nationals (Part 2)

On top of the great results in the Junior Kata, Junior Shiai and Senior Shiai, congratulations to Matle Fung for achieving a silver over the weekend in the Kata Championships for the NSW Senior Kata Team!

We are lucky to announce that Oceania Champion and 2x Commonwealth Games representative Qona Christie will be hosting a seminar on Saturday 20th June 2026 from 2-3:30 pm at the Eastern Suburbs PCYC.

Qona is an experienced judo competitor. Starting at the age of 7 and has since travelled around the world participating in many competitions and training camps across Australia, Asia and Europe. She is also a champion for female participation within the sport.

Spots are limited so be sure to register. This seminar is open for Judoka’s 14 years and up. So get in quick!! Registration in the link attached below.

2026 Nationals

A valiant effort from our UNSW team that went to the Gold Coast this year.

Our junior team had a strong showing with Annemieke and Mason representing the club. Congratulations to Mason winning the U15 Boys U60kg category and contributing to the Junior NSW team win and placing a 2nd and 3rd in the Junior Kata competition.

Some mixed results for our Senior team with. Sho had some good fights however could not convert the effort into any wins. Bram and Brendan had some tough fights and good wins, both placing 7th in the Cadet men U66kg category and 7th in the Senior men U73kg respectively.

Congratulations to Laria on placing 3rd in the Cadet Woman U57kg category, Taylor on placing 1st in the Senior woman KYU grade U70kg category and Jose for placing 1st in the Junior men and 2nd in the Senior men O100kg category.

A special shoutout to our coaches for making the way up to the Gold Coast to support our competitors. JB and Phil as well as Martin Kelly and Azita in their roles as NSW State Coaches.

On Monday morning UNSW Judo (Kids) will be featured on Channel 7 Sunrise program around 9.40am if you want to tune in.

I'll be discussing Commonwealth Games, National Champ's and our Kids Judo program with 6 of our kids rumbling with the presenters. It should be fun. 😂💪🥋
