Highfields parkrun Highfields parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run/walk put on for the community at 7am every Saturday morning at Highfields Sport and Recreational Park

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Highfields parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful surroundings and get physically active in the proces

s. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there! Our Team:

What’s better than pacer week……… pacer week on the wet weather course 🌧️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Yep, you heard right! Council has closed the fields, so tomorrow we’ll be running and walking our wet weather course instead.

Our meeting place will be directly across the road from our usual briefing spot. Meet at 6:50am for a 7:00am start.

It’s National Volunteer Week and a perfect time to celebrate the amazing volunteers who make Highfields parkrun possible every single Saturday.

From setting up the course, barcode scanning, timekeeping, marshalling, token sorting and cheering everyone on — our volunteers are the heart of parkrun. Thank you to every single person who has given their time to help our community enjoy a safe, welcoming and fun event each week.

Volunteering is easy, rewarding and a great way to be involved, even if you’re not running or walking. No experience is needed and there’s always plenty of support.

If you’ve been thinking about giving volunteering a go, we’d love to have you join the vollie crew sometime soon! 🙌
