This one deserves its own post 🥰
Here at Riverton we’re about creating good, safe experiences for both horses and riders. Our shows are about exposure for young riders new to the sport and about providing a nice experience for young horses learning how it all works. Ribbons are always a bonus but our main focus is teaching the next generation the basics of a show in a controlled environment. Our aim is to have all horses and riders leave here feeling like they’ve achieved something and feel confident and safe for the next week!
This year we decided to give out a sportsmanship award - one for dressage and one for jumping. These awards were chosen by the judges, pencillers and myself and were given to riders who showed patience, resilience and kindness throughout the day. Both these riders were a fabulous representation of this award.
We thought it was fitting that our sponsor of this award was the Morgiewicz Family. Angela & Nicola have been coming here for lessons for years and have always been so supportive of our shows, our training days and most importantly our riders! It is not uncommon for Nicola to run over to the arena and lead a pony around the poles when the rider looks nervous, or Angela to jump on the gate to wish every single rider goodluck before they go in. They are a very important part of our team here at Riverton and we were thrilled to be able to give out this award on their behalf.
Congratulations Lauren Bryde & Molly Pargeter on your award! And thank you Angela Morgiewicz and Nicola Morgiewicz for setting a great example!
