🎙️ Planet Earth: The Elusive IGA Bandicoot

As darkness settles across the urban landscape, one of Australia’s more curious nocturnal creatures begins its nightly forage.

Observe the Common IGA Bandicoot (Baggus Opportunisticus).

Easily identified by its oversized hoodie, cautious shuffle and distinctive reusable IGA shopping bag, this fascinating specimen emerges in search of easy pickings.

The hunt begins at the golf cart shed…

Carts are locked.

Undeterred, our persistent little marsupial wanders to the vending machine, convinced that persistence alone may somehow overcome reinforced steel.

It does not.

Now emboldened by a complete lack of success, the creature investigates the clubhouse.

Also locked.

But nature rewards determination… or so it thinks.

The IGA Bandicoot continues its migration to the side shed… the storage shed… and finally the maintenance shed, attempting entry at each stop with admirable enthusiasm and absolutely no results.

By now, the reusable IGA bag, brought in hopeful anticipation of tonight’s harvest, remains tragically empty.

After an exhausting expedition spanning six locations, and achieving a remarkable 0% success rate, the creature quietly retreats into the night.

Somewhere, it will undoubtedly tell the rest of the colony that there “wasn’t anything worth taking anyway.”

With every door refusing to cooperate, our IGA Bandicoot concludes the evening’s expedition. The reusable shopping bag, brought with such hope and optimism, returns home carrying precisely one item… disappointment.

Nature has spoken. 🦘🛒

📢 Annual Price Update – Effective Wednesday, 1 July 2026

To help us keep up with the rising costs of maintaining and operating the course, our annual price update will take effect from Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

⛳ Green Fees: $30 per round (previously $25)

🏌️ Memberships: All membership categories will increase by $25.

We work hard to keep golf at Echuca Back 9 affordable while ensuring we can continue providing a well-maintained course for everyone to enjoy.

We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to welcoming you out on the course!

Huge thank you to the absolute legends from the Social Club and all the volunteers who gave up their day to upgrade several tee boxes at the Back 9 Golf Club 👏⛳️

What you achieved in a single day is seriously impressive… clearing, levelling, framing and transforming those tees took a massive amount of effort, teamwork and skill. You all did the hard yards (literally).

A special shout-out and thank you to our greenkeeper, Jayden, for donating one of his workers for the day to operate the machinery. That support made a huge difference and was very much appreciated.

I was more than happy to take care of the BBQ, but let’s be clear… I just cooked the food, you did the real work. 💪🔥

Days like this are what make our club special. So much pride, generosity and community spirit on show. Thank you all for your time, energy and commitment. It doesn’t go unnoticed and it’s genuinely appreciated.

We upgraded the cameras after his last visit and old mate repaid us by giving a full-face, HD glamour shot.
Not the wonky-eyed culprit I was expecting… this champion can stare straight down the lens 📸

Left the beef jerky behind, which is frankly unhinged behaviour.

🚨 WANTED: Snack Bandit Alert! 🚨

We’re calling on our local community to help identify the individual pictured — a man of refined taste who, in the early hours of this morning, decided to break into our vending machine for a midnight feast.

He helped himself to beef jerky, chicken chips, and a KitKat bar (because even thieves need a break 🍫)… but clearly isn’t a fan of Coke cans, since he left every single one behind. 🥤🙄

If you recognise this snack connoisseur, please let us know. We’d love to treat him to a different kind of surprise next time — courtesy of the local police station. 👮‍♂️

Further to my previous post,
We had two carts stolen at 1.05am this morning and taken for a joy ride. Both carts were returned, however, one had significant damage.
If anyone can identify the two perpetrators, please let us or the Echuca Police know.
