Summer 2026 Round 15 Division 1.

The Pissheads have finished in 2nd position on the ladder, due to winning 19 x sets to 14 x sets over the 3 x regular season matches against Locky Lightning.

The same above mentioned qualification process has been used in recent seasons when teams have finished with the same amount of matches won & sets won.

Richie Burnett Darts Exhibition.

The event was held last night at the All Season, Bendigo & consisted of 12 x games (12 x different players v Richie, 501 - best of 3 x legs) on a main stage, with about 150 x spectators in attendance.

The event was presented by the Sydney Darts Club & the Bendigo Dart League.

Richie is a former world champion & has been ranked # 1 in the world.

Our association had 2 x players participate, Michael Bajowski (Baja) & Mark Murley (Mothy). We did have another listed to play, Joanne Hadley, but unfortunately she injured herself early in the week & had to withdraw.

Both Baja & Mothy lost 0 - 2 x legs, but Baja had a chance in the 1st leg & I believe Richie realised he was very capable & took his game to another level in the 2nd leg. It would’ve been great to see them play best of 5 x legs, as I’m sure Baja could’ve won 1 - 2 x legs.

The last game of the night was played by Baja’s good mate & 1 of Victoria’s best players, Mal Cuming (The Bull). This game was best of 5 x legs. The Bull played very well & won 3 - 0 x legs.

Last night was the first time Richie lost a leg on his Australian tour, after already playing a few other exhibitions.

Curtis Horvatek from Ballarat also won a leg.

Richie was very generous with his time, talking to many people & made himself available for many autographs & photographs.

There were several E.M.D.A. members also present as spectators. They had an enjoyable & entertaining night.

Well done to the members of the Bendigo Dart League responsible for organising & running the night. Their efforts are appreciated.

I’ve attached several photographs of the people mentioned above & will add 2 x videos in seperate posts.

Summer 2026 Post Season/Finals.

Attached below is a screenshot of the 1st week’s matches (qualifying/semi-finals) & venues. It’s in order of the ladder finishing positions for the regular season. (The round 15 season statistics for both divisions will be posted in a few days time.)

The Pissheads & Locky Lightning both finished on the same number of match wins & set wins. We’ve been able to separated them by the number of matches won & sets won against each other, which means the Pissheads have qualified above Locky Lightning.

All the same rules from the regular season apply in the post season/finals, except once a team has won 6 x sets the match is finished & we’ve decided there’s no 45 x darts thrown in a leg bullseye rule for either division. The players involved in a singles game leg, can, but only upon agreement by both, elect to throw at the bulleyes to decide the winner of that leg, once they’ve thrown 48 x darts or more.

If the 45 x darts bullseye rule prompt message appears on the scoring tablets, then simply choose the option to play on.

We’re requesting the following team’s players who haven’t qualified for the post season/finals, to attend these matches to conduct scoring duties:

- Recyclables = Misfits v Pissheads.
- Hasbeens = Locky Lightning v Ocheholics.
- Golden Oldies = Shoeless v Double Trouble.
- Pastoral Pirates = No Bulls Hit v Pastoral Warriors.

The players from the teams eliminated in week’s 1 & 2 of the post season/finals will be requested to attend & score the following weeks match in their division.

We’ll post which teams are playing & where + the teams being requested to score, leading into both week’s 2 & 3.

No fundraising is expected to be done by any of the teams playing at home in week’s 1 & 2. Committee members will be doing fundraising at the grand final in week 3.

The grand final is being held at the Pastoral Hotel, Echuca.

Good-luck to everyone playing in the post season/finals & hopefully we’ll get plenty of players who aren’t participating in attendance to help-out & support over the 3 x weeks.

Association Equipment, DartConnect & Fundraising.

Association Equipment:

It’s been brought to the attention of the committee that the Round 15 (last night) home teams (x 3) at the Pastoral Hotel, didn’t pack-up the equipment at the completion of their matches.

It’s not the responsibility of the hotel to switch-off & remove the scoring tablets (x 1) & light rings (x 3), or close the dartboard cabinet doors (x 3), but the home team captain or a player allocated by them.

We need to be mindful of our behaviour & responsibilities at all the venues the association has teams playing at.

There’s also an expectation that all association equipment (portable stands, dartboards, light rings & scoring tablets) is cared for, packed away & stored in an appropriate location.

DartConnect:

We’re regularly having match summaries submitted on DartConnect where players names aren’t in the correct order or sets aren’t recorded. (This is mostly happening with the same few teams.)

It’s not a quick & simple task to correct these issues & it’s important to be recorded correctly for ladders & season awards.

Fundraising:

It appears the lucky number cards haven’t been done each week by the home teams that play at venues other than the Pastoral Hotel.

Also, a few raffles at the Pastoral Hotel were not undertaken due to compiling a schedule after the season had started & some teams ignoring their reminders a couple of days prior to their turn.

The committee is considering asking the members if they’d rather the association increase the membership fee & weekly playing fees, instead of requesting the teams to continually do these fundraising activities & because some members are spending much more money than others.

The committee don’t believe any of the 3 x items mentioned above are a huge request or commitment of any team or individual & they’re fairly simple to complete.

Shepparton Darts Tournament.

The E.M.D.A. League Team played in the Shepparton Darts Tournament over the weekend. (30 & 31/05/26.)

The team consisted Andrew Beaumont (Captain), Michael Bajowski, Ebonie Gill, Marcus McKenner & Shane Mensforth.

The team played well & finished 7th out of 12 teams, with 7 x round wins & 4 x round losses.

As indicated on the ladder photograph attached below, there was only 2 x round wins between 1st - 7th & unfortunately we lost a round to a team that only had 2 x round wins for the tournament.

Some of the individual highlights were as follows:

- Andrew won 8 out of 11 x round games & threw 2 x 180’s. (Also, he won 1st prize in the raffle & swapped the new dartboard for some good looking Shepparton Darts merchandise - shirt & beanie.)

- Michael won all 11 x round games, threw several legs of between 15 - 19 x darts, pegs of 104, 117 & 126 + 4 x 180’s.

- Ebonie was competitive & won a few legs against some good opponents. (She was also good enough to drive us all there & back on both days.)

- Marcus threw a 17 x dart leg.

- Shane threw a 180.

Everyone had an enjoyable weekend, were well behaved, displayed good sportspersonship & represented the league in a positve manner.

Thanks very much to Michael (Baja) who made himself available, whilst having a very busy darts schedule this year.

Also, it goes without saying, thanks to the Shepparton Darts Association committee & volunteers for all their time & effort with hosting the tournament. Likewise to the other associations that have tournaments that our league team participates in each year. You all do a great job & it’s appreciated.

Sunshine State Classic 2026.

Sorry for the slow post with our members results.

Joanne Hadley & her partner (Amanda Loch) played in the ladies doubles event final & finished runners-up. (Photograph attached.)

Caylee Crilly played in the girls (youth) singles event final (against Amy Forrest) & finished runners-up. (Photograph attached.)

Joanne & Caylee both finished in the top 16 of the ladies singles event, but unfortunately they were both knocked-out.

Joanne had an average of 68.59 per 3 x darts & Caylee had an average of 46.35 per 3 x darts over all the events. Caylee had a slightly higher average of 51.64 per 3 x darts in her top 16 match of the ladies singles. (Her average in our association this season is 43.62 per 3 x darts, which indicates she’s improving & able to lift her game against better opponents in quality events.)

We also had 2 x past players from our association (who will hopefully return soon) participate. Brian Crilly played in the men’s singles event & Jodie Crilly in the ladies doubles event. They both made the trip to Brisbane to support Caylee.

Caylee would like to say a big thank-you to Joanne for her support & advice over the weekend.

Thanks to Leeanne Crilly for providing the association with the information & photographs to assist with the write-up.

Well done everyone from the E.M.D.A. community.
