Celebrating the 20-year anniversary of ETP TURF was a proud moment last Friday. A big thank you to Jo Crampton for the wonderful idea to gather for a long and enjoyable lunch at the iconic Stokehouse St Kilda and to Lee Smith the GM and one of Max's past footy captains from Hampton Rovers Football Club, for looking after us along with his attentive staff.

The sunny day provided a beautiful view over the bay, and the relaxed atmosphere allowed for plenty of great food, wine, laughter, and storytelling as we reminisced about the past two decades. I am so grateful for the support I have received from so many, many people over the years and have always worked to surround myself with honest, intelligent individuals (smarter then me!), exemplified by the incredible team we have today.

As the business has evolved over the last 20 years and will continue to do so, I remind myself of how I started in the turf industry as an enthusiastic 17-year-old. I have been fortunate that my passion for turf and the industry has never left me, and I truly enjoy getting up each day to do something I love.

The ETP TURF Xmas lunch is one of my favorite events of the year.
I'm so proud of what we do and how we do it....and this end of year lunch allows the team and our close supporters to come together and have a few drinks, laughs and causal lunch as we finish up another busy year and take a break...and is a prelude to Jo Crampton going and catching a few waves 🏄‍♀️️ down the west coast over the next few weeks. Take care all and have a great Xmas and NY and the ETP TURF team will be back bigger and better in 2026!

Conquering Winter Disease on Natural Turf Sports Fields⛳❄

Winter brings unique challenges for natural turf sports fields, especially when it comes to disease management. With cold temperatures, reduced sunlight, and increased moisture, certain diseases thrive in these conditions. It's crucial to understand and address these challenges to maintain healthy and resilient playing surfaces. Let's explore two common culprits our expert senior turf consultants have identified during their winter audits: fusarium and anthracnose diseases.

Fusarium appears as circular patches with reddish-brown discoloration, while anthracnose manifests as irregular patches of thinning turf with reddish-brown or purple lesions on the leaves. Although these symptoms are visible on the turf surface, a definitive diagnosis requires microscopic evaluation by our resident disease expert, David McGeary.

By closely monitoring these diseases, our team can implement targeted management strategies to mitigate their impact. This includes selecting appropriate fungicides, adjusting cultural practices, and promoting overall turf health. We are passionate about sports here at ETP Turf, and nothing gets us more excited than watching games played on natural turf sportsfields.

This past weekend, the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) hosted an incredible AFL showdown between the Men’s and Women’s Perth Football League and the BIG V teams, and we were thrilled to witness some outstanding performances. Held at Elsternwick Park Oval, located just outside the VAFA HQ, this ground has been under our watchful care, providing the perfect stage for these stellar games.

We take immense pride in ensuring that players and spectators alike can enjoy the game on high-quality natural turf sportsfields. Check out the photos captured from the event, showcasing the vibrant green field that was the envy of other sportsgrounds.
