Before you can apply to court for parenting orders in Australia, you generally need a Section 60I certificate from an accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.
Most people first hear about it from a lawyer, and it lands as another bit of paperwork in an already stressful process. It is actually doing something useful: confirming that genuine effort was made to resolve things outside court, or explaining why that wasn't possible.
Worth a few minutes if you or someone close to you is navigating separation.
A Section 60I certificate shows you've attempted family dispute resolution before going to court. Learn what it is, when you need it, and how to get one in Canberra.
