Your friendly reminder: ChatGPT can probably write you a service schedule, but it might also remind you to top up the blinker fluid. 😂🔧

We’ll leave the blinker fluid off your invoice. 😉

IF IT’S FLOODED, FORGET IT.

Yes, that’s Nick driving our purpose-built winch competition truck through water.

Before anyone looks at their daily and says, “Reckon mine could do that”, let’s have a chat. 👀

A snorkel raises the engine’s air intake. It doesn’t waterproof the whole vehicle, stop it losing traction or magically rebuild the road that’s washed away underneath.

“But it looks shallow.”
“I’ve driven this road for years.”
“The bloke ahead made it.”

None of those tells you what’s underneath or what the water will do next. Floodwater can hide debris, damaged roads and sudden changes in depth, while water entering your vehicle can damage the engine and electrics.

And before someone says, “But you’ve got a comp truck”, even our truck isn’t a green light to drive through floodwater.

We love a capable rig. We love seeing you get home more.

Turn around when safe, obey road closures and check QLDTraffic before travelling. Don’t walk into floodwater to test it either.

💬 Send this to the mate who thinks a snorkel comes with a boating licence.

IF IT’S FLOODED, FORGET IT.

I’m no marriage therapist but a hot tip is just don’t tell her the actual prices they are definitely guy talk only but Penny Flanigan | Personal Brand & Cringe Mentor is pretty excited to sacrifice holidays to go camping in dust and listen to the rumble of V8s 😜

We put too much work into that back end to throw it away.

The shock towers and engine mounts are welded in, the inside of the chassis is primed and painted, and the roll cage is on. We’re going with solid mounts this time, getting rid of the rubber body mounts. I’ll walk you through the reasoning in an upcoming episode.

Next up, we’re cutting the cab down, sorting the tube work and modifying the tray to suit. There’s plenty changing, but that rear end has earned another round. 🤘

What would you keep from your old rig if you were starting again?

Let us know below and follow along as we get this girl back to the start line. 🏁

Yep… let’s try that again!

EP. 02 ~ BUILT FOR THE NEXT HIT

Apparently our version of a “freshen up” involves pulling the whole bloody truck apart. 😂🔧

Five days into the rebuild and we’re further along than I expected. The young bloke has been going hammer and tongs helping strip her down so we can work out where everything needs to go. Plenty of years went into building this girl, so seeing her in pieces is a bit of a moment.

The wiring’s out, there’s still work to do getting the fuel tank free, and the bent front end has given us a good reason to make some changes. We’re also changing the rear suspension setup, with the aim of making her handle the jumps better. Still plenty of reinforcing, sorting and head scratching ahead.

This is where you get to see what goes into the next chapter: the decisions, the progress and the bits that make you wonder why you started. 😂

What do you want a closer look at next: the suspension changes or what we’re keeping from the old setup?

Follow along for episode three of BUILT FOR THE NEXT HIT. 🤘🏁

Last time this hill had me upside down, collecting panel damage and performing a very expensive pirouette in the winch truck.

Fair to say I was bloody happy to strap on my Simpson Hybrid Sport head and neck restraint for another crack. 🐢😂

Here’s why that gear matters.

In a crash, your harness slows your body down, but your head wants to keep moving.

A head and neck restraint helps limit that movement and transfers some of the load through the restraint and harness, helping reduce the forces your neck has to take.

It works alongside your helmet, harness and seat as part of your protection. The Hybrid’s low-profile design also allows movement while driving, with protection designed for impacts, flips and rolls. Because sometimes one hit isn’t where the ride ends.

No gear makes racing risk-free, but correctly fitted, compatible and well-maintained gear matters when things go pear-shaped. Check it, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and make sure it meets your event’s requirements.

I’ll happily take the p**s out of becoming a turtle. Protecting the bloke inside the shell is something I take seriously. 🤘🏁

Save this as your reminder to check your race gear before the next event.

Another epic year of racing, and there’s a bloody good crew of people to thank for making it happen. 🤘🏁

3rd Place for the weekend with a 2nd place for the 2026 Year!

To my Navi Rielly Chapple , thanks for being in the thick of it with me; you are absolutely amazing and doing what you do.

To Lachlan, Scooter, Ethan, Kirstian, Logan, Jax, Ashman and everyone who’s chipped in to help fix the girl and keep us racing, I appreciate every bit of your time and effort. These weekends wouldn’t happen without you legends.

To my amazing wife Penny Flanigan | Your Midlife & Marriage Bestie thank you for putting up with the madness and getting stuck in alongside us. You somehow keep the admin, the food and everything else running smoothly while we’re busy breaking things. I know how much goes on behind the scenes, and I bloody appreciate you.

To our sponsors, thank you for backing us through another epic year. Racing would be a hell of a lot harder without your support, and I’m very excited to get stuck into the new build and see what next year brings!
