Badbug - Bathurst and Districts Bicycle User Group Bathurst and District Bicycle User Group - Social Cycling and Bicycle advocacy. You can contact Megan Rikard-Bell for this purpose as well.

Bathurst and District Bicycle User Group aims to promote cycling and to help people meet other cyclists. We also organise a regular Saturday morning ride for all levels of cycling ability. The group has been operating as a very loose affiliation and the main contacts are

MEGAN RIKARD-BELL (M) 0418978038 (E) [email protected] (H) 63325913

ROBERT MCALARY whose email is [email protected]

You can also contact TREVOR LIU at [email protected] if you want to add something to this page and find you are having trouble. THE MAIN GROUP RIDE is on SATURDAY MORNING at 7am (keep an eye on this page for any changes as winter approaches!). We meet at the police station on Rankin St, near Howick St. All grades of riders turn up on Saturday and generally split iinto 2 or 3 different groups depending on speed/distance. After the ride we go to The Hub or to Eli's cafe for coffee/breakfast. The decision about where to go is made before we depart for our ride. WE LOVE INVITING NEW PEOPLE INTO THE GROUP AND VISITORS TO TOWN ARE JUST AS WELCOME TO JOIN US FOR A RIDE. There is one thing that we must point out about the group though and that is that we are not covered by insurance for other riders. Most of us are members of Cycling NSW OR Bicycle NSW and thus carry our own insurance. New riders that do not carry their own insurance/bicycle association membership are asked to sign a waiver before the ride. AND Don't be scared of the early morning start - you're ALWAYS pleased you forced yourself out of bed!!

Kay's Seat - Eglinton NSW.

We think it's fabulous!! Kay's Seat is on the Eglinton Bike Path near the exercise equipment facing a lovely view.

The OPENING of the seat is set for 4pm on Saturday 2nd April 2022, two years and a day after Kay's death.

Bring your own picnic. Champagne will be served by the Friday Ladies, better known as Lettuce Legs because Kay often sent messages via voice to text and that was the one that had us all in stitches... a common state when Kay was around!

Many of you have donated to this cause and we'd love to have you at the opening !

·
LETTER FROM ROSSCO
Hello Fellow Cyclists,
My name is Rossco Hames. I belong to a Cycling Group in Brisbane, called Cam’s Cycling Collective.
We have a dear friend and avid cyclist, Murray Geale, who is suffering from Motor Neuron Disease.
We have created a Fund Raising Group called M4M (Mountains 4 Murray)
https://secure.mndandme.com.au/.../51/mountians-for-murray22
I am reaching out to you to let you know that this M4M Charity Ride, raising much needed funds for MND Research,
is passing through Bathurst. Arriving on March 6th and departing March 7th.
11 Riders are riding from Brisbane to Falls Creek over 10 days, departing Brisbane on March 2nd and arriving at Falls Creek on March 11th.
After a rest day on Saturday March 12th, they will all do the 3 Peaks Challenge on the Sunday.
As you will agree, this is an epic cycling challenge!
I am the Rider Support Driver, part of an 8 person Road Crew accompanying the Riders.
We would love for your Cycling Club to get involved and support us!

Kay Peacock’s Friday morning cycle group is seeking to raise money for a park bench as a memorial to Kay, to be used by the community.
Kay is well remembered as part of the Bathurst Cycling Community and left us 18 months ago.
We are working with Council on selecting a site.
We seek support from anyone who would like to contribute to raise the $3,000 needed. Please see the attached image.
Any money raised in excess of our target will be used to support Cycle Safe Bathurst.
