The 2026 season has come to a close.

It wasn’t the way we wanted to finish, with both our men’s sides going down to the Dubbo Rhinos Rugby Club 🦏 . Unfortunately, injuries and limited numbers made for a tough day, but one thing that can’t be questioned is the effort shown by every player who pulled on the Mitchell jersey. The boys fought hard right until the final whistle and represented the club with pride.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported CSU Mitchell Rugby throughout the season. To our sponsors, volunteers, coaches, players, supporters, families and committee members, this club wouldn’t be what it is without you. Your support, whether at home or on the road, has meant everything.

While the results didn’t fall our way today, there is still plenty to celebrate from the season, and we look forward to recognising those achievements.

The team lists are in for our final fixture of the 2026 season! 💛🖤💙

Our Women’s XV have the bye this weekend, bringing their season to a close. They’ve put together a determined campaign, fighting hard in every match, celebrating some well-earned victories and continuing to build for the future. We couldn’t be prouder of the effort and commitment they’ve shown throughout the year.

Meanwhile, our 2nd Grade and 1st Grade men make the trip to Dubbo to take on the Dubbo Rhinos Rugby Club 🦏 in the final fixtures of the season. It’s set to be a great day of rugby, and the boys will be looking to finish the year on a high.

A huge thank you to all of our players, coaches, volunteers, sponsors, members and supporters for everything you’ve done this season. If you’re making the trip to Dubbo, we’d love to see plenty of Mitchell colours on the sidelines as we cheer the boys home one last time for 2026! 💛🖤💙

To Faj and everyone involved in making Old Mitchell Day and Lee’s final game so truly amazing, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I honestly could not have done this without you.

Over the years, you have all genuinely become our second family. The love and support we’ve felt has been incredible. You’ve watched our kids grow up, jumped in to help whenever needed, and kept an eye on them so I could actually watch Lee take the field. That kind of village means more than words can say.

My vision for today was simple: I wanted Lee to see just how much he truly means to everyone. You all delivered beyond expectation. Seeing so many familiar faces come back to support the club and give Lee the tribute he deserves was unforgettable.

As hard as it is to say goodbye, we couldn’t have asked for a better send-off. I’ve loved watching each and every one of you come through, play for this incredible club, and grow into the wonderful people you are today. I am so proud of this community.

On behalf of Lee, Harrison, Cleo, and myself: thank you, and we love you all. ❤️

Here are our Players Player, along with this week’s 3, 2, 1 votes and team of the week from Old Mitchell Day. 💛🖤💙

An incredible effort from every player across all grades. It was a day that truly embodied the Old Mitchell spirit and one that made all of our Old Boys and Old Girls proud. Thank you to everyone who pulled on the jersey, supported from the sidelines, and helped make the day so special.

As we head into the final round of the season, a reminder that our women’s side has the bye and has now wrapped up their 2026 campaign. We’d like to congratulate the entire squad on a fantastic season and thank them for everything they’ve contributed to the club.

Our men’s teams will travel to Dubbo this weekend for the final fixtures of the year. Let’s finish the season strongly and get behind the boys one last time. 💙🖤💛

Old Mitchell Day has come and gone, and what a spectacular day of rugby it was as we welcomed the Wellington Redbacks Senior R.U.FC to The Zoo. 💛🖤💙

Our Women’s side kicked things off with a thrilling contest that went right down to the final whistle, showing incredible determination and heart.

Our 2nd Grade men brought the intensity from the opening whistle. While results haven’t always gone their way this season, they produced one of their best performances of the year and showed exactly what Mitchell Rugby is all about.

The day was capped off in the best possible way as our 1st Grade men carried the Old Mitchell spirit onto the field and secured their first win of the season. There truly couldn’t have been a better day to do it.

To every Old Boy and Old Girl who made the trip back to The Zoo we thank you. Your support, stories, and passion are what make this day so special. Thank you for coming together to celebrate our club, stand alongside our Life Member Lee, honour the remarkable 1986 3rd XV, and remember those we’ve sadly lost in 2026.
