Yori Motorsports

Yori Motorsports Yori Motorsports is about the pursuit of our dreams of competing in Australia's most prestigious Tarmac Rallies.

Yori,("Yow-ree") is a Japanese name which is said to mean “Reliable & Trustworthy”. These terms couldn't be further from the truth when talking about our slightly unorthodox 1991 Nissan Pulsar GTiR. Despite this,Yori Motorsports was established through our Passion for Grassroots Motorsport and a friendship built around Nissan's Eclectic, early 90's WRC Challenger. As the Driver, Trent Lavelle and

the Co-Driver, David Pinney, we have a combined 20+ Years ownership of these little coupes and due to circumstance, (bad) luck and the will to turn our dream of competing in Australia's most prestigious Tarmac Rallies, we are pulling out all the stops to make sure we achieve our goal in 2019.

No chance we will make it by 2022 for the 30th anniversary but we will make it one day. Watching this video just drives that hunger more!

We love the fact that people are still willing to make high quality components for our cars.

Massive shout out to the guys at Front Runner Motorsports for pushing these to be made and of course Frenchy's Performance for the development work to make this a reality.

We have a couple of things in the pipeline, one will be revealed in the near future and the other is working out what brakes to run on the rear. The easy option was to run the maxima bracket and a 280×9mm rotor with the standard caliper.

Today had a bit of a play around with using a Brembo caliper which will allow us to run a 280×22mm vented disc. Fitment wise it should relatively easy compared with the front. Caliper bracket that would be around 10mm thick and pushes it out to accommodate the larger diameter rotor.

Surprisingly the mounting points of the calipers are the same. Shame the offset is so far off.

Today was supposed to be the 1st day I've stepped back into a kart in about 4 years. Have missed racing them greatly but there has been far greater priorities with kids and unfortunately this weekends comeback has been put off due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
End of the day a race is just a race and the health and safety of the greater community is far more important. Hopefully we cross this bridge soon and will have another crack at an Enduro later in the year.

Hard to argue!

Big shout out to Greg and the guys at Brakes Direct for our new front brake setup. There was a few bumps along the way due to the restrictive nature of GTiR front end and running 15in wheels. They stuck with us and did whatever they could to get the job done. Absolutely stoked to get 295mm×32mm Forza Rotors with 4 Piston Alcon calipers under our 15in Team Dynamics.
