🏆 Long Service Awards: Celebrating Mrs. T. Staples 🏆
Today we are honoring an extraordinary milestone—20 Years of Service for a woman who is the backbone of our school's daily operations!

Mrs. Staples is a quiet, deeply caring, and highly competent woman who never looks for personal appraisal, yet she has been an invaluable member of the VP family for two decades.

As a dedicated School Governing Body member, she is incredibly diligent and devoted to all financial matters required to run Victoria Park High School. She can often be found working late after hours or during school holidays to keep everything on track. 💼📊

The Engine Behind the Scenes ⚙️✨
While not all learners interact with her directly, Mrs. Staples works tirelessly in the background to ensure all payments are made timeously so that school tours, sports trips, and events go off smoothly. (And our SGB staff members particularly look forward to her prompt month-end "survival" payments! 😉)

A True VP Family Affair 💙
A proud PE girl, her financial accounting career originally started at First National Bank. For Mrs. Staples, Victoria Park has always been a family affair:

Her father served as the Chairman of the SGB and later successfully ran The Vicky for many years.

Two of her four brothers are former Victorians.

The elder of her two daughters is also a proud VP past pupil!

When she isn't balancing the books, you can find her cheering on the Springboks, out cycling, or playing a game of padel with her friends. 🎾🚴‍♂️

Thank you, Mrs. Staples, for two decades of outstanding, loyal service. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do, and we rest assured knowing that the Victoria Park High School finance department remains in such excellent hands!

🏆 Long Service Awards: Celebrating Mrs. E. du Preez 🏆
Today we celebrate an absolutely extraordinary milestone—30 Years of Dedicated Service for a woman whose legacy is deeply woven into the very fabric of Victoria Park High School! 🌟

Mrs. du Preez began her journey in education at UPE, completing her BA Honours & Higher Diploma in Education (in Afrikaans and History). Even in her student days, her competitive energy shone bright on the sports field, where she represented the Technicon, NMU, and the Eastern Province in netball.

In 1997, she joined the VP family, bringing structure, high standards, and a massive heart to her Afrikaans and Social Sciences classrooms.

A Journey of Leadership & Excellence 💼
Her natural leadership has shaped our school in so many vital roles:

📚 Academic Pillar: Served as Head of Social Sciences and continues to lead with distinction as the Head of Afrikaans.

🏐 Decades of Coaching: From 1997 to 2023, she poured her passion into netball, coaching the 1st team (1999–2012) and serving as Head of Netball, building young women of true character and discipline.

🎓 The Ultimate "School Mom": As a long-standing Grade Head—particularly for Grade 12—she has guided, supported, and firmly mentored countless matriculants through their final school years.

🛒 Tradition Creator: She is the brilliant founder of our much-loved Trolley Dash, leading the excitement from its inception all the way until 2024!

🚀 Deputy Principal: In recognition of her excellence, she was promoted to HOD in 2021, and to Deputy Principal in September 2024. Today, she leads our academic committee, supports new staff, and manages ITSI and LTSM with total professionalism.

A True VP Legend ✨
Stylish, accomplished, capable, and deeply committed, Mrs. du Preez is the dream deputy for any principal, and the kind of person every school is deeply fortunate to have in its story.
