It’s the week we have been preparing for, League 1 of the 2026 CGA Track & Field Season is here.⏳

Early mornings, hard sessions, and sacrifices all lead to this moment. Step onto the track with confidence, trust your training, and compete with heart. Every stride, every throw, every jump counts.

Entries for League 1 are still open and will close on Tuesday, 27 January 2026. Here is the entry link for league 1:

The entry fee for athletes is R40 and R50 for Spectators. Temporary License will be available at R 30. All athletes must have two valid 2025 or 2026 ASA license numbers (a 2025 permanent license will only be accepted for the 1st League).

Just a quick reminder that our Weekly Time Trials will commence from next week Wednesday 21 Jan 2026.
We start at 17.45 and offer marked 3/5/8km routes. Refer to our website for maps and info.

All you need to know for the 2025 JACARANDA RUN™
We are super excited to host you all, get your outfit planning done and lace your running shoes. It's going to be EPIC!

An information mailer will be sent by Howler, so check your inboxes tomorrow morning.

Registration tomorrow night from 5-7pm at the Linden Bowling Club. Again on Saturday morning from 5-5:50am, but we recommend you come through tomorrow instead.

*Note: no bulk entry collections. We need each runner to collect their numbers, sign the indemnity, and collect their Goodie bag.

We have had some amazing feedback from first-time runners over the past 5 years. Novice and new runners stated that due to the relaxed atmosphere and community vibes, the JACARANDA RUN™ gave them the platform to push themselves further to sign up for their first 10km and 21km events.

Finally, we are up and running and open for 2025 membership renewals and new applications!! Visit https://lindenrunner.co.za/ for more info. New ASA license distribution will start end of next week to new and renewed members.

We welcome all runners, road, trails, masters athletes, cross country athletes, junior athletes, and those who entered a goal race, but who need a good weekly program and group to train with.

We run weekly from Tues-Fri 5am from our club I'm 3rd street, Linden. Weekend long runs schedule with mix of trail and road for Sat-Sun.

CGA launches 2025 Track and Field season

Central Gauteng Athletics Track and Field Commission is excited to announce that the 1st Track and Field League meeting which incorporates a race walking league will be held on Saturday, 25 January 2025 at Germiston Stadium.

The 2025 Track and Field season consisting of 5 leagues that we believe will give athletes adequate competition to prepare and qualify for National and International Championships. The last league meeting will be hosted for seniors just before the National Championships later in April. Central Gauteng Athletics is looking forward to a season which promises to have lots of memorable athletics’ experience and most importantly great performances by our athletes and coaches.

Reminder: Age Groups for 2025

Born in 2010/2011 is U/16 (14 and 15)
Born in 2008/2009 is U/18 (16 and 17)
Born in 2006/2007 is U/20 (18 and 19)
Seniors 20 years and older

The entry fee for athletes is R30 and R50 for spectators for leagues. Temporary licenses will be sold at the venue for R 30. 2024 ASA License number will be valid till the end of January 2025. Athletes to report one hour before their respective event to the outside callroom.

No entry fee for CGA Affiliated Coaches, coaches will be required to produce an affiliation card at the gate. No coach will be allowed inside the competition area.

We would appreciate if you can share this information with your respective athletes and coaches.
