A productive week with the Lapierre PXR Racing World Cup XCO men’s and women’s teams focused on performance testing and biomechanics. Always valuable aligning data, movement, and preparation ahead of the upcoming season together with Head of Performance and Science to Sport Director Darrel Fitzgerald.

Welcome to our new coach
With an impressive background in elite sport as a former professional MTB rider and World Tour cyclist, Tereza includes podium finishes at the highest international level, Olympic Games participation and multiple national titles as part of her accolades. Today, she shares her experience as a Certified Performance Coach while studying psychology to further specialise in mental performance coaching. Her work focuses on helping athletes develop not only physical performance, but also mindset, confidence, and long-term resilience.

Exercise Physiologist & Coach - Cape Town, South Africa
Applications close on 8 February 2026

We are looking for an Exercise Physiologist who will perform physiological tests and cycling biomechanics assessments in our Cape Town laboratory at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa and assist with coaching (running and cycling).

Previous experience with coaching, performance testing and bike fitting would be preferable. In addition, the position has numerous opportunities and career advancement prospects.

Over the years, the thousands of bike fits completed within this system have contributed to the algorithm that predicts the correct measurements. Do you know your primary source of fuel when you ride?
A Fat Max test at one of labs will outline the training intensities where your fax oxidation rates are currently maximal. Knowing these zones will allow you plan your training in a way that maximises your fat oxidisation rate. Over time, this can change, so we recommend regular monitoring of this.
