🏑 4th Annual Game of Legends! 🏑

We are proud to have sponsored this year’s Game of Legends, which brought together high school coaches from across Montgomery County for a little friendly competition, plenty of fun, and a final score of 4-4! 🙌

And our very own Director, Heidi, had quite the night! 🎉 A hat trick, an assist, AND her first game back since ACL surgery. Talk about a comeback! ❤️💙 (Hey! I know her!! 🤩)

We’re so proud of Heidi and all of our MoCo coaches for continuing to show up, compete, and bring their love of the game to the field.

Because at Beyond Sticks, we believe the game goes far beyond the field. 💙 Thankful for our community!

🏑🌎 BEYOND STICKS STAFF ON THE WORLD STAGE! 🌎🏑

Our Beyond Sticks Adapted Field Hockey Staff, Director and Coach Heidi Lewis and Coach Sarah, arrived home yesterday after an incredible experience in Belgium coaching Team USA at the first-ever FIH ParaHockey World Cup for athletes with intellectual impairment.

Heidi served as Co-Head Coach of the U.S. Para Field Hockey Team, with Sarah serving as Assistant Coach.

And what an experience it was:
🇺🇸 8 U.S. athletes
🌎 16 teams from around the world
🏑 8 games over 8 days
💙 Athletes with intellectual impairment competing on the world stage
🤝 New friendships and connections across countries

“It was very exciting to be representing Team USA and coaching these incredible athletes!”

We are so proud that the coaches who lead our Beyond Sticks Adapted Field Hockey program are also helping grow the sport at the international level.

This is what sport can do. It creates opportunities to compete, connect, belong, and grow.

Congratulations, Heidi and Sarah! We are so proud of you! 🇺🇸💙🏑

You can still join them for our Fall Adapted program beginning September 13. 🔗 Link in Bio to learn more!

More than skills. More than field hockey. 🏑💙

This fall, our athletes will work on their hockey skills while also practicing:

💬 Communication
💙 Confidence
🌱 Resilience
🤝 Teamwork
🧠 Decision-making
⭐ Leadership

That’s Play Beyond the Game.

We believe the field is a great place to practice skills that athletes can carry with them everywhere else.

Learn it. Practice it. Take it beyond the field.

YES, REALLY! 👀🏑

Your daughter could try a fall sport for FREE?

We know fall gets expensive. Between school, activities, sports, equipment, and everything else, sometimes adding one more thing just doesn’t make sense.

That’s why we offer the Play Beyond the Game Award, with full and partial scholarships available for Fall 2026.

🏑 Field hockey + leadership
💙 1st–12th grade
📍 McLean • Wheaton • Alexandria
⏰ Applications due August 24

And if your daughter already plays another sport, that’s okay too! Field hockey can be a fun way to try something new, meet new friends, build confidence, and be part of a team.

Know a family who might appreciate knowing this exists? Share this with them. 💙

No pressure. We just want families to know that financial support is available.

Applications close August 24.

A little Throwback Thursday! 💙

One team photo… two very different poses. 😂

Because yes, we take our field hockey seriously, but we also have a LOT of fun doing it. And that hasn’t changed!

We’re missing these smiles and already looking forward to more memories, laughter, and smiling faces on the field this fall.

Fall registration is OPEN!
