Labor Day races and our racing season here in Alaska is done. One run yesterday, had my opponent covered pretty good, felt the car get a little loose at about 1000', pedaled it instead of driving through it, and gave up .008 at the stripe.. Uhg....oh well, that's racing! Now it's going to be time for going through everything, looking for a few more hp and addressing a few issues. It's a never engine story, I'm just glad everybody here is along for the ride! If you follow me on YouTube, watch for another crummy video to drop later this week. I'll also be starting a new "series" on what I do to freshen my engine and trans, and some tricks I will be using to try and free up some power. Stay tuned!

Well, things didn’t happen today. Daughter made one attempt at a run but spun hard twice. My class was called due to rain so no passes down the track today. We’ll see what happens tomorrow!

Today was a bit somber. I had to say goodbye to my old dragster. We’ve had a great run, lots of wins and good times, and now it’s time for a new chapter. With any luck we’ll meet again, only this time as competitors. Lots of memories with that car, and a lot of emotions as well. Been through a lot together. Yeah I was attached to it but sometime you’ve got to move on and that time is now. I hope the new owner enjoys it and has as much fun with it as I did. Fairwell old friend!

Well, sometimes things don’t work out as planned. Due to the weather, races have been cancelled today. Not what we were hoping for but it is what it is. Next and final event is Labor Day, so we’ll see you then!

Back at the track yesterday for more license runs. We got in four before we called it a day. I ran my butt off trying to manage two cars and by the end of the day I felt like I got hit by a truck….several times….

Anyway, my daughter ran a personal best of a 7.39 and Dawn made a personal best of a 7.07. Both cars are turned down so we could get down the track without spinning, but mine still spun quite a bit. Track was in pretty good shape though, and it was a blazing hot (for us here in Alaska) day at 78*. Weather was fantastic! I’ll try to post some vids from yesterday.
