This has been a long time coming together. This is a set of bear hunting spears. It took a lot of learning, finding the right materials, and even making a few tools just for the job. Both spears are solid 1075 high-carbon steel heads that I Cerakoted. The shafts are hickory, two different lengths. They are fitted with stainless fasteners that are also coated to match. Custom Kydex sheaths with a turned oak bead to help pull the sheath off, as these are extremely sharp. I would like to thank Debbie and David Martin for letting me borrow the beautiful grizzly hide for the photos, thanks to Ayla Salsman for the photos, and thanks to the customer who these are going to for being patient with the process. Well, after a lot of work, this beauty is headed down to Alaska Knifeworks! It is a forged ball-bearing canister for steel. It is a Nakiri chef knife with decorative file work on the spine. The handle is an Alaskan yellow cedar burl with synthetic red-and-white stone and gold veins throughout. It is a hidden tang construction with one mosaic pin through the handle, and it is sharp!! Some work heading out the door! First time doing a leather knife. Also got a good solution to mount a fero rod to the FUBAR sheath. Bunch of micro skinners going out to Alaska Knifeworks so be sure to go check those out.
