The utilization of time can take many forms on different hunts. For example, Sheep hunting requires climbing steep terain day after day. While, coastal brown bear requires the dedication to sitting in extremely bad weather behind your glass. Waiting for a bruin to slip up and give away his location.

It can be easy to listen to the voice in your head and sleep in because you hear rain on the tent. Or that you dont need to get to the top because you can see just as good from a lower elevation. Remember, what you came for! Let that thought drive you to success. We dont get to stay in these places forever, so make the best of the time you have.

Kenai River - 4.76 million sockeye
Kasilof River - 1.3 million sockeye

The 2026 sockeye salmon return estimates for the Kenai River and Kasilof River have us absolutely fired up at Rosser Outfitters. If the numbers hold anywhere close, we’re looking at another strong run of hard-charging reds, packed rivers, bent rods, and freezers getting filled the right way.

This is what we live for—early mornings on the river, boats sliding through the mist, chrome-bright sockeye stacking in, and clients high-fiving over limits of some of the best eating fish on the planet. 💪🐟

If you’ve been thinking about a dicpnetting trip on the Kenai or Kasilof in 2026, now’s the time to start planning. Prime dates go fast when the forecast looks this good—and trust us, you don’t want to be watching this run from the couch.

A float trip is a classic moose hunting adventure. However, there are many things to consider when thinking of doing a float hunt. While the river allows you to cover more ground and offers you the opportunity to hunt multiple areas. It can also provide constraints not conventionally thought of and can add additional logistical challenges. That being said, it can provide you with the adventure of a lifetime e.

The duckshack is truly a special place. The Susitna Flats State Game Refuge is a remarkable wetlands area that supports an abundance of waterfowl. Our duck club memberships is a great way to get the opportunity to enjoy this little slice of waterfowl heaven on your own terms. The shack is nothing fancy, but it provides the perfect shelter with bunks and a wood stove.

Guiding dall sheep was the reason I came to Alaska. The determination, grit, and perseverance these animals have to survive in these environments will always amaze me. As hunters we're lucky to spend a few weeks out of the year following them and hoping to harvest one.
