Camels Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Lavar Herron as the new Boys Track & Field Head Coach. Coach Herron brings over 15yrs of coaching experience, including stints at Holmes, Ryle and Bellevue. Coach Herron has also coached football for many year, and currently serves on the Camels Varsity Football staff. Coach Herron is also the founder of the NKY Elite Track Club. Throughout his career Coach Herron has coached championship teams and helped develop and prepare athletes for state and national meets. From Coach Herron - “I look forward to building relationships with our student athletes and creating a culture of hard work, accountability and pride. Thank you to Campbell County High School administration for this great opportunity and believing in me. I am ready to get to work! Go Camels!”

Congratulations to the Camels XC teams on their performance at the Regional Meet today. Lady Camels were led by Lila Dunlevy who is the KHSAA Region 5 champion and state qualifier, and she was followed by Isabella Evers 36th, Arianna Law 43rd, Maddie Crowley 44th, and Izzy Brown 47th. The Lady Camels placed 7th over all as a team.

The Camels team was led Grant Holbrook who placed first as the regional champion and Sam VandeWater was 7th. Other finishers included: Luke Hartley 19th, Vance Petty 23rd, Joey VandeWater 38th, and Finn Bentz 41st. The Camels team placed 3rd overall and qualified for the state meet!

Lucas Depperschmidt ran for 141 yards and a touchdown while Xander Guy threw for 130 yards and two touchdowns, Cade Anthrop with two receiving touchdowns and Alex Riedinger with a rushing touchdown. Defense was led by Alex Riedinger with 10 total tackles including a sack and Jesse Ball also with a sack.

The Camels earned the No. 3 seed in the Class 6A, 6th District with the win. Camels will travel to Male in the first round of the playoffs on Nov. 6th. Camels will close out the regular season on Oct. 30th at Home vs Beechwood. Go Camels!

🏟️ OUTDOOR EVENTS – FIELD RESTRICTIONS
For outdoor events, the field entrance is reserved for game participants and authorized personnel only.
Spectators should leave the event promptly following the conclusion of the game.

📸 PHOTOGRAPHERS / MEDIA
Only those who have received prior permission from
CCHS Admin are permitted on the track during events to take pictures. For safety and game-management purposes, individuals taking photographs are not permitted behind team benches. All other fans/spectators taking pictures must do so from behind the fence next to the track or from the bleachers.
