How perception created by Deception, becomes the reality in Protection.
On July 8th 2026, in Ankara, Turkey, it is rumored that President Trump boarded Air Force One, then secretly departed Air Force One utilizing a catering truck on the opposite side of Air Force One; in which he was then transported to a nearby C-32 in which the Secretary of War was flying on. Upon landing in the UK, President Trump is seen departing Air Force One, then boarding the new Qatari donated Air Force One.
So which is it? Did in fact President Trump sneak off Air Force One and depart on the C-32, then reboard Air Force One upon landing in the UK in time for the cameras to catch him getting off? Or was he even on the C-32? Maybe it was a fabricated story to begin with, that was intentionally leaked to the press to create a shell game played with the enemy to combat the threat?
Utilizing Deception in Protection is nothing new and has been, and currently widely used in formulating protection details. Past Presidents have used deception while publicly heading to Camp David for Holidays, then secretly flying out to places like Iraq, and Afghanistan to surprise the Troops.
I’ve personally mixed up a motorcade in which the “Protectee” I was assigned to had a particular package/Order of Movement they utilized. I would randomly drop a vehicle, move them around into different vehicles, add vehicle to sometimes, just to keep the bad guys guessing as to if the “Protectee” was actually in the motorcade at all.
Historically, surveillance has always been done when planning an attack, especially at that level. One can assume, at that level, the adversary has studied every open-source option about Air Force One. There is a lot out there in documentaries, that you can find just on YouTube.
One of the things about Air Force One is it is self-contained. It needs no outside resources to be operational. From Air to Air refueling, down to the food that is onboard which is purchased in advance and stocked utilizing strategic protocol as to maintain the security of Air Force One, as to not exposing it to any outside elements. With that being said, if I am the bad guy, I already know all this stuff, because I love watching YouTube, and studying up on all thing’s protection. So seeing catering trucks, especially in a foreign Country, would have been a huge red flag to me. And I am sure the bad guys are paying attention as well……
So was Air Force One the real “decoy” plane or was the C-32 the “decoy” plane? Going back to those documentaries, I already know that Air Force One is the most heavily protected Aircraft in the world, with classified counter-measures that the public has no clue about. Even when given choices of Aircraft flying into Iraq, it was decided that Air Force One would be utilize despite the enormous size and recognizable paint scheme because of the counter-measures that are on board.
Whether President Trump was on Air Force One, or that C-32 is irrelevant. If there was an eminent threat, then the tactic worked because our President made it out the area unscathed.
Just something to think about, and hopefully keeps you thinking outside the box, when putting together your security plans.
