Mid-Drive OR Hub-Drive Motor? π€
This decision has far more repercussions than you think.
If you need the Torque, want the Motor with maximum power, and you're okay with spending more $$, then Mid-Drive Motor E-Bikes is what you want.
π¨ BUT BE AWARE OF THE REPERCUSSIONS!! π¨
You WILL be replacing Drivetrain Components MORE OFTEN! These types of E-Bikes are rougher on their Drivetrains because they rely on the Chain, Chainrings, and Cassette to transfer that power to the rear wheel. Due to this high level of torque and constant strain, the Drivetrain will wear out and break faster. (Not to mention if you break this out in the field, You're pushing this bike back to the vehicle)
Hub-Drive Motors have a direct transfer of power since they are in the Rear Wheel. This means the Motor produces no added strain to the Drivetrain. Yes they have lower levels of torque, but not by much these days. (AND DON'T FORGET, if you break something in your Drivetrain out hunting/riding, you can still ride the E-Bike back using the Throttle) π€·
You can see the damage to this Cassette. It has bent rings because of the amount of torque it has been exposed to by the Mid-Drive Motor.
Your decision, choose wisely. Yes, we can service all of it regardless. π
