MASH was built from the ground up. No shortcuts.

Just plain hard work and dedication over the last decade. We believe sports create enormous impact through relationships, community, and transparency. Everything we do begins with how we best serve members of our community. This takes transparency and unwavering support from our staff. Done consistently over time, we have created a following that understands our collective mission and values. Started in 2012 to provide athletes a home to develop both on and off the field, MASH has matured to focus on all aspects of athletic and human development. Our commitment to Raise the Standard in Human Performance is accomplished by valuing leadership, consistency, self-awareness, independence, and confidence within our community and by promoting a growth mindset, critical thinking, and an actions over words approach.

Growth Minded: Our original mission was “to create a community inspiring growth.” We cannot impact the growth of others unless we are consistently asking and challenging ourselves to improve. This mindset has been the backbone of our culture and community since our inception in 2012. Critical Thinking & Solution Oriented: We as humans face challenges every day. Especially in sports, performance is dynamic and evaluated, sometimes by the minute. We continually strive to create solutions to near-term problems for long-term results. Default to Action: People doubt what you say, but believe what you do. We must prove our value every day and we do this through continuous action to lead, serve and compete.

🚨NEW HIRE ALERT🚨

We’re excited to announce Carlie Coto as our new Lead Pitching Instructor at MASH Softball!

Carlie brings an outstanding combination of high-level playing experience, coaching expertise, and a deep background in student-athlete development.

A former Division I softball student-athlete at the University of Minnesota, Carlie was part of the Gophers’ 2019 Women’s College World Series team. Before becoming a Gopher, she was named the 2016 Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year and established Minnesota pitching records for career strikeouts, strikeouts in a season, career shutouts, no-hitters, perfect games, and career wins.

Carlie also spent five years working with University of Minnesota Gopher Athletics and Premier Sport Psychology, where she led leadership development programming for more than 750 Division I student-athletes annually. Her work focused on developing confidence, self-awareness, resilience, accountability, and the skills athletes need to succeed beyond their sport.

As a youth club and high school softball coach, Carlie has worked with pitchers and position players at multiple stages of their development. Her coaching philosophy goes beyond mechanics. She believes athletes grow most when they are challenged, supported, and given the confidence and tools to take ownership of their development.

We’re excited for Carlie to bring that approach to MASH and help lead the next generation of pitchers.
