A very rare sighting! This Magnificent Frigate Bird is taking a rest on a tree branch but did you know that this species of bird spends the majority of its time in the air! They are called the pirate of the skies due to their habit of stealing food from other birds. They’re usually spotted soaring over the Causeway, but sometimes they come into Tarpon Bay for a break!

Brown Pelicans are often seen along our coastlines, dramatically diving into the water from up to 60 feet up! The adults develop white and yellow heads with dark brown down the back of their necks in breeding season. Juveniles, like this one, are a drab grey/cream color.
