Just wanted to congratulate Abbey Hoye on receiving her 3rd stripe on her blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Abbey is already a decorated martial artist as is. She has put in so much work into her Jiu Jitsu game this entire Summer with OffYourBackBJJ Academy. Not only her own training, but she’s stepped in to help shape the kids program at OYB, and is a great role model for the young men and women at the academy. She defines the meaning of martial artist and I am so proud of her taking her game to the next level! Being able to work with Abbey not only as a coach and train her but also exchange knowledge and help our entire academy as a coach here is incredible! She is an amazing person on and off the mats and deserves so much recognition. Aside from training with myself and OYB she also runs her gym Elements MMA. Abbey is a true example of someone who defines the meaning of martial artist,holding rank in other combative styles and exemplifies the lifestyle throughout! For a lot of people at OYB Academy and Elements, she is one of if not the first face and personality our members meet and interact with! Myself as a blackbelt and gym owner, I consider Coach Abbey a close friend, an ally and one of my main training partners. The road to earning a blackbelt belt in BJJ is long and complicated and very difficult. We are here to help and support her and all our members to stay on track and grow and improve! As a business owner of a gym in Rockingham County, who moved to Cheshire County, Abbey was the first martial artist I interacted with, I had no idea we would be training together and exchanging knowledge, as we are now. I was fortunate to have been invited into her gym to teach a seminar and from there was able to make friends also living the BJJ lifestyle. There’s so many things I can say about my time training Abbey and helping her improve her jiu jitsu and seeing her quickly pick up on new techniques, fixing holes in her game that we all have and just enjoying showing up to train. Putting in 6 days a week with us this Summer and continuing to train alongside us is incredible and I look forward to seeing her progress in her jiu jitsu! Abbey Hoye
