🥋 Our Lesson of the Month: RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibility is a BIG life skill — and it starts with the little things.

This month, we’re helping our students understand that they’re responsible for more than just their actions. They’re also learning how their choices, attitude, and reactions affect what happens next.

Parents can help at home, too!

Give them something that actually matters: feed the dog, water the plants, help with dinner, or take care of a shared space. And as hard as it can be… sometimes let them make the mistake and experience the consequence. That’s where a lot of learning happens!

And instead of the classic “Because I said so!” 😂, try explaining the why behind what you’re asking.

Little responsibilities now = kids who are better prepared to handle the BIG ones later. 💪🥋

Congratulations to our September Student of the Month! 🎉🥋

He loves learning new things, getting some exercise, and being part of the fun in class. He’s also a great friend to everyone and never hesitates to step up when someone needs a little help.

We love having him in class and are very proud of him. Congratulations—you earned it!

Happy Tuesday—and happy first day of school to everyone heading back this week!

New classrooms, new teachers and new routines can bring a mix of excitement and nerves. We hope all our students walk in with confidence, show kindness and remember they can handle hard things.

Parents, you made it through the school-supply lists, new schedules and first-day pictures! Now let karate help burn off some of that after-school energy while keeping the kids focused and confident. We can’t wait to hear who found their classroom, remembered their lunch and had a great first day! 🥋

A little friendly competition can bring out the best in our students. 👊

They challenge each other, push each other and learn that it’s okay if someone is faster or better at something—you keep trying, adjust and go again.

Those are skills that go way beyond karate. Learning how to handle pressure, compete with a good attitude, and use someone else’s success to push yourself to get better.

And judging by the smiles… they definitely don’t mind a little competition. 😂🥋

We may have had a little too much fun with AI today… 😂🐾

Meet Dakoda, Sensei Shannon’s dog and apparently the newest member of Karate International. 🥋😂 She’s got the gi, the black belt, and clearly thinks she runs the dojo now.

And yes — Dakoda is real! 😂 You’ll get to meet her at our Open House on September 27!

Until then, we’ll be working on her focus, discipline…and maybe keeping her from stealing everyone’s snacks. 🐶

Who thinks Dakoda needs an official Karate International belt? 😂👇

Summer is almost over and school is right around the corner—but we’re still having fun at the dojo! 😎🌴

We loved seeing our students dress the part for Beach Week while continuing to train, stay active, and build confidence for the new school year. 🥋
