Kian Taekwondo offers world-class programs for students of all ages taught by Master Wonil Seo, a Kukkiwon certified 6th Degree Master born, raised, and trained in Korea. All students are taught valuable life lessons of respect, humility, perseverance, self-control, and honesty from day one. However, training does not stop at the mats as they are required to take these life lessons to their homes,
classrooms, and workplaces. "Little Tigers" is our program for students from ages 3 to 6. The emphasis in the Little Tigers program is building confidence while teaching students the basic principles of Taekwondo. Students focus on learning a challenging, yet age-appropriate curriculum while also being taught that respect for parents and teachers is of utmost importance. "Juniors" is our program for students from ages 7 through 12. Juniors study a slightly-modified Adult curriculum providing a fun and challenging experience for Little Tigers and new students alike. Juniors prepare both mentally and physically for the rigors of adult curriculum and teenage life. Teenagers from ages 13-17 start training in adult classes while still being taught at an age-appropriate level. Teenage students have a chance to get a taste of adult life as they train side-by-side with the adult students.The adult students happily serve as role-models for these students. Teenagers are taught how to handle the inherent challenges that come along with being a teen with confidence and perseverance. The Adult program is for students of age 18 or older. Adult students get into the best shape of their lives while learning traditional Taekwondo. An emphasis is placed on "life fitness" throughout training. Adult students are challenged to better themselves at home and at work through the mental discipline and self-control taught in their training. They are taught to overcome any obstacle, regardless of circumstances, while maintaining a positive outlook on life. Our weapons and Olympic sparring classes provide a safe and controlled atmosphere for students. Students are required to master the color-belt curriculum before they are allowed to start learning weapons or sparring. Sparring classes are taught in an exciting and challenging way. There is a large emphasis on conditioning and stamina which prepares students for multiple-match scenarios often encountered at local, state, and national Taekwondo competitions. The sparring program emphasizes safety and control. Senior belts are taught to take extra care to ensure junior belts are safe. Older students are taught to exercise control when sparring younger students so that both have a productive and safe training session.
