🌸 Week 2 Post-Hysterectomy Update 🌸

​Healing isn't linear, but Week 2 brought some really beautiful moments of feeling like me again. I’m feeling safer in my body and more confident to gently move.

​The Big Wins during Week 2:
• ​💊 Officially off ALL meds (by the end of Week 1)
• ​🚽 Things are back to being regular (if you know, you know!)
• ​💪 Incision pain is way down by the end of the week —I’m not feeling them when I stand up anymore, and the overall soreness is greatly improving.
• ​🎈 The infamous "swelly belly" is finally subsiding.
• ​🏡 Back to light life: administrative work, dishes, tidying up, and folding laundry. I feel better doing a light squat & its improved all week!

​The Realities (Listening to my body):
• ​🧘‍♀️ Pelvic Floor: Still feeling some pressure. It needs another week. Hopefully that improves more next week!
• ​⚡️ Zaps & Tugs: Feeling some tugging around my belly with a few nerve zaps.
• ​🩸 Light spotting from internal stitches dissolving which is normal but scary. My golden rule: immediately sit and elevate the feet when this happens!

​Current Movement Protocol:
*Everything from week 1 plus week 2 below.
* Nothing is done laying on the floor, on all fours, or side-lying (yet)
*Don't lift anything over 10 pounds. Focus on gentle & light mobility and not strength

• ​🚶‍♀️ Walking 10-15 mins, 2-3x per day.
• ​💪 Upper Body: Arm internal/external rotations, rhomboid work, and arm circles.
• ​🦶 Lower Body: Rolling feet on a ball- myofascial release, calf stretches, and heel lifts supine
• ​🌀 Pelvic Mobility: Pelvic tilts, side-to-side rocks, hip circles, heel slides, and single-leg knee fall-outs.
• ​🛌 Restorative: Supported butterfly (using pillows), small spine twists, and a supported psoas release off the bed/sofa (keep it light & stop if you feel any pulling), plus a gentle piriformis stretch.

​Slow and steady wins the race. Taking it one day at a time!
