Recently I had the chance to make it back to Montana and fish. I haven’t had a chance to fish for myself in a long time. I spent two days with Will from Frontier Anglers. We fished the Beaverhead River and another river I’m not sure the name of and was super technical. As Will put it “we save this one for specific people”. I caught some beautiful trout. Only snapped a couple pictures due to the warmer temps in the afternoon. Fishing quiets my mind. Taking some time for myself helped me appreciate the guiding side a little more. I found it hard to turn that part of my brain off. Looking forward to making some more time for myself on the water again.

Salmon and steelhead season is around the corner. I still have weekend availability the in September. October 3, 4, 11, 12, 24, 25. Also availability for steelhead season late October-November.

A River meeting after school on my way home from work. Threw the fly rod in the truck this morning and said “meet me here”. I threw a few times dialing in the weight. Then Erika pulled up with Aria. Yes rocks were thrown, no we didn’t get a fish today. Aria still loved the water and wanted to try the fly rod. Just easing her into it. Not forcing. Letting her know she can try when she wants to.

She’s at an age where she wants to go fishing. So fishing we went. Small stream trout generally don’t like small rock throwing but she enjoyed her time near the stream. The fishing chops will get there. ❤️ dsrguide

Oh who’s that? That’s mister Great Lakes steelhead. Nice to see you sir! Dean had a great day on the run. He got himself a gorgeous fall chromer.
