The waves were steady and as usual larger then predicted… we found fish immediately as we set down but the bite today was a pick. We boated 4 salmon, fired another 6 times but the fish came unglued. We moved in, dropped some light tackle and a downrigger rod fired and the line started to peel. After a long battle our friend Luis boated an 18.34 # freshwater drum. This fish hit a trolling spoon and took all the hooks in the mouth. It was an epic battle as the angler coaxed the fish from the depths to the net. What a great trip we had! The fishing wasn’t hot and heavy but we had our opportunities and just couldn’t keep them buttoned to the line. Thanks Luis! You and your wife were a blast to fish with.

PS stay away from beer bottles Luis

Folks… this means so much to us. We started our chartering adventures after a miserable experience and after purchasing a boat building an inventory of tackle, working into a network of other great captains and then earning our USCG licenses. We can’t make the fish bite nor can we alter the weather, but we made it a plan, our ethos, to do our best to provide a safe and fun experience. Bring your jokes, your hunting/fishing experiences/stories and let’s have a fun boat ride with laughs and smiles and along the way, let’s catch some fish. Our sincerest thank you to all that choose to fish with us. Captain Travis and Captain Sean

Well, what can I say about yesterday… the fishes mouths are getting hard and keeping them buttoned to the line is the key to loading the box. This is where our clients had a hard time, the fish wouldn’t cooperate. After a late start due to some logistical errors we got on our grounds and marked fish immediately. Amidst 3-4 waves we set out our program and within minutes the fish had a preferred rod. This 1 rod accounted for all of our salmon strikes, resulting in 2 fish hitting the deck. The rest survived for another day. After getting beat by waves the high sun shut the kings down and we moved in and picked on some healthy brown trout to send the clients home with 5 fish. We laughed and shared stories, had clients experience many firsts and in the end they were all smiles. We took these photos and started cleaning fish before the remaining fish hit the deck. 5/12 on the day

ATTENTION! Call to arms… our friend in the outdoors Shane Muckey has fallen into some ill health. We in the community always come together to support others and we need to do it now to support a man that’s given so much to the salmon river angling community. Consider ideas for a fund raiser to help Shane and his family as his income will be impacted by this and they have unexpected costs associated with his treatment which requires temporary housing in Texas.

The fishing was fickle on today’s trip going 5/6. The morning showed promise as we set the boat down and immediately had marks. Within minutes of dispatching gear rods were going off, and true to fashion lately, the sun came up and the fish got lock jaw. We made an adjustment on a troll to the dock and rounded the day with a pair of decent browns to compliment the king salmon we got.

This weekend we were joined by longtime friend Jim Von Broock his son and brother in law. These guys have become regulars to Reel-A-Peel sportfishing and as always it was a great time and lots of laughs on the boat. The fish were finicky with all action coming early in the morning and by 8:30 they had lock jaw. We went 4/9 on the day but once the sun came out the fish got lockjaw. Only a month left in the lake season and it’s setting up to be a good finish. Thanks for fishing with us guys! Look forward to having you join us again

Well not the day we were looking for but we moved lots of rods. We were joined by longtime friend Josh, his dad Bruce and friend Linden. In total we fired 16 times today but we could not keep them glued. A few bite offs, a few that just let go etc but in the end we had a great time as always. The fishing is heating up and the next few weeks could be epic…

Today we shared a short morning trip with our friends from SPOONFED sportfishing and though it was a grind picking up 4 fish in total it was great catching up and sharing stories. The lake is a mess with temp and fish are on the move so hunting them down is the name of the game right now…
