Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund The Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund educates and advocates to protect and advance sexual health We are a 501(c)(4), not-for-profit organization.

We engage in educational and non-electoral activity including legislative advocacy, voter education and grassroots organizing to ensure that Mainers have access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings which preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of the individual. Through our PAC, we engage in electoral activities including endorsement and ca

mpaign support for candidates running for state office who support Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund’s mission, and who believe that politicians should not be involved in a woman’s personal medical decisions about her pregnancy. We must never forget that Pride was born out of resistance and protest. The first Pride March was held on June 28, 1970, on the first anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. The Stonewall Uprising was led in part by transgender women of color in protest of state-sanctioned violence by police toward LGBTQ+ people and it sparked the modern LGBTQ+ movement. Today we still fight and have seen that change can come from solidarity, protest, and pride! 🏳️‍🌈
