The **2026 Support the Mounds Golf Tournament** is coming up **Monday, October 19th at Lake Presidential**, and we’re already seeing spots fill up!

• 8:30 AM shotgun start

Congratulations to Patriot’s Pitcher, Dani Sypolt on receiving the Jack Brown scholarship from the Optimist Club of Calvert. Another outstanding achievement for her and best of luck at Newberry College!

The Optimist Club of Calvert is proud to announce our 2026 Scholarship Winners!

My Nguyen, a recent graduate of Calvert High School, was awarded the Les Knapp Scholarship, valued at $8,000. My plans to study pre-med and eventually become a doctor.

Lucas Grover, a recent graduate of Northern High School, was awarded the Jim King Scholarship, valued at $6,000. Lucas wants to work in politics and law, and he plans to study Political Science and/or Economics.

Madilyn Espenschade, who recently graduated from Calvert High School, was awarded the Robert L. Chaney Career/Vocational/Technical Scholarship, valued at $3,000. Madilyn wants to work in early childhood education.

Danielle Sypolt, who recently graduated from Northern High School, was awarded the inaugural Andrew Jackson “Jack” Brown Scholarship, valued at $3,000. Danielle, who wants to pursue a career in criminal justice and law enforcement, has committed to playing softball for Newberry College.

A huge end of the year award for another Patriot! SR/CF Melody Russell had a year at the plate and in CF and is extremely deserving to be named one of the Southern MD News Co-Players of the Year! Congrats Mel and best of luck at Barton College!
